Thanks for the reply. Does it mean that I did not lose my money? As the payment is on hold and also my account is limited.

I submitted some documents Paypal required, supplier information and contact but Paypal wants proof of address. It seems they an limit your account for virtually anything.

I'm so pissed right now vmad.gif

You won't lose your money, just will lose some of your business since your Paypal couldn't be used right now until everything solved.

Just provide all the information it needs at the checklist will do. Proof of address is a scan copy of your electric/water bill. They will limit whoever account that involves a lot of transactions or huge amount of transaction. And if you have a lot of disputes, they will create a reserve payment towards your account which is happening to mine right now in which 30% of it couldn't be taken out forever until u terminate your service with paypal which is pretty ridiculous.

Since Paypal is used in majority, I guess we just have to follow their guidelines if we want to use their service. The more you use Paypal as a seller, the more troubles you will see later. And that is just the beginning. Good luck

Really appreciate your response. But this would be my first and last time with Paypal. Apparently, my Paypal account is high risk and they decided to close it.

Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but since it's Paypal related, hope you guys can advice.

I have a local credit card that is linked to my Paypal account. Then when I do online transaction with local companies (eg. Maxis or local webhosting companies), I used paypal as the option to pay as oppose to paying using directly using the credit card.

I've actually been doing this for 6 months plus now but only today I noticed that in my credit card statement, the amount charged using paypal is higher.

Eg. I made a maxis payment for RM313 using paypal, but in my credit card statement, it shows RM315.80.

I know it's not much, but if I were to use lots of paypal transactions, this might accumulate to larger amount..

Is this normal? Do you guys experience the same thing?

Appreciate if anyone could advice.

Thanks!

Yes it's normal. And it's even higher if you're transferring in other currency rates that requires conversion.

Paypal is quite troublesome nowadays especially for sellers outside of US, not sure if there's any other companies offering service like Paypal.

That's great news. But I don't like the conversion from Paypal to local banks especially in usd. They always charge 0.05-0.10 lesser from the current currency rate.

How about alertpay? I feel that it can be alternative to paypal but dunno why a lot of online shop didn't accept it.

I had a email account which only register for paypal and moneybooker. No other thing register under it but the strange thing is this email account always receive spam mail which show out my real name(my email account is other name which is not same as my real name, only paypal and moneybooker got my real name).

I dun think paypal will leak my real name out so I suspect it is moneybooker that leak my real name out to other advertiser.

You can open a Paypal acccount. No need credit card to load money, just do a FPX payment from your bank to your Paypal account. Your Paypal account wont be verified therefore the amount you can purchase over ebay is RM1575.00 I think??

If its a small amount then it should be okay.

But remember if the Ebay item is fraudulent or you didn't receive the item, then you wont be able to do a reverse charge back.
The only option if anything goes wrong is to issue a 'dispute'

Scary!!!

One thing you can do is, go to Bank Negara Website, get RHB - Complaints Dept No. # - call or write to RHB.

If no response or unsatisfactory, then officially complain to Bank Negara.

RHB has duty to care!!

-If withdraw to Maybank bank account, will Maybank charge any fee?

I'm new to paypal. Thanks~ smile.gif

Maybank follows it's own rates as shown in their chart. There's no extra charges.

For purchasing from eBay, as long as you have an eBay account, you could login in whichever eBay, either eBay.uk, eBay canada, eBay china, eBay singapore, etc.

Safest is use credit card linked to Paypal and eBay for payment. So in case of fraud, you could send a dispute over the seller in eBay and make a credit card chargeback from your local bank. Meaning you get double protection from both eBay and your bank. The funds will automatically deducted from your bank account converted in RM once you have click the purchase button in eBay.

Withdraw to Maybank account = Maybank visa debit card. It's the same since it goes to the savings account at last.

There will be no fees charged if the amount withdrawn is more than RM300 if I'm not mistaken. If there is, the amount would be small too.

Only withdraw to credit card do they charge extra.
