Well shit.....
QUOTE The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was recently launched and got all but a standing ovation from the world. A beautiful design, curved display, powerful hardware, 64 GB of expandable internal storage, and a top-notch camera make Sammy's newest phablet a highly desirable handset. What could go wrong? Apparently, buying one of the dream phones could be a risky investment. Just days after its launch, some users have taken to forums, complaining about crashes, bootloops, and outright bricks of the device. Even we can relate, as our office unit has started acting up since last Friday. The issue pops up after a few days of regular usage and there seems to be no rhyme or reason behind the patterns of crashes. It will usually start with a bootloop. Then, as the user attempts to force the phone into safe mode or recovery, it only gets worse. Random crashes at any point of operation freeze the device up and make it night impossible to do anything with it. We even had the phone crash while in Recovery, and it is currently stuck on a bootloop right on our desk as we are writing this story. Factory resets, wiping the cache, or anything else that is user-accessible doesn't seem to help, too, so it might be a hardware issue. Users have reported that even certified Samsung shops have been unable to deal with the issue and have replaced the phone with a new one instead. From what we can make of the reports, it seems only owners of the internationally-sold Exynos variant of the phone are affected. Either it's an Exynos-only issue, or US users with a crashing Note 7 have yet to become vocal online. Samsung has yet to confirm that it's aware of and working on the problem. Until an official statement has been made and the problem has been fixed, we'd suggest you hold firm to that $850 you've been saving. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Some-Samsun...ickgate_id84611 |

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Aug 30 2016, 04:25 PM) 5 out of 7? That's "impresssive". And that's why warranty exists.Based on my observation, there's more than 20-30ish lowyat forumers in here who have issues with their Note 7. Not to mention those who complained in Samsung facebook and other social platforms, plus those customers (not lowyat forumers) who walked in to SC. If all numbers add up, god know how many victims out there. Also, I know there's still got many users who don't have any issues with Note 7 at this moment. But who can tell if this will stay permanently? As we already knew, the pre-order batch definitely have some issues going on. Holding a Note 7 now is like holding a time bomb. You will never know when it will go hay wire. I know someone would say every product line would have defective units. Just accept the god damn fact and move on. Haters will always be haters, etc etc. But don't you guys think it's kind of ridiculous to see so many cases after Note 7 released? I don't know if the olders generations also had the same history or record. But I am sure there's whole lot of issues in Note 7 compared to the predecessor Note 5. This is certainly not a pleasant thing for me to swallow. Don't get me wrong. I also love Note 7 (I am also a Note 5 user). But honestly, this is not really a good time to buy or switch to Note 7, unless Samsung show us the proof that they already fixed all the issues after they first launch in Malaysia. Sorry for the long speech. Just a bit of ranting from the Note series lover. |

Snapdragon variant no complaint (so far), but the Exynos ones (for Asia). Makes you wonder if its all comes down to quality assurance for Asian units or the CPU chip itself.
