Yup. You would want to avoid electrical noise. I would think that EPP 500W is at least minus 20% performance from the age though.

FreeSync monitor requires an AMD card to take advantage of it, and there is no equivalent card from AMD that provides the performance of GTX1070 yet so you gonna go for Nvidia path in this case, GSync monitor is expensive, almost 50% more than the cost of an equivalent FreeSync monitor.

Yup i7 has 8 threads which is really useful for some but in term of game performance, you won't see much gain on i7 over i5.
