I read online that wearing trail-running shoes for road running will wear out the outsoles quickly. My question is, how do you define a trail? Trail means dirt road is it? I mainly run at UPM's Bukit Ekspo and the route there actually has paved surface.

Here's how it looks like:

Bukit Ekspo route pic

So does that count as trail or road? Should I get trail running shoes or road running shoes?

Thanks for your input guys.

Now I have a new dilemma, if my actual shoe size is somewhere between 8 and 8.5, which size should I get?

I've tried putting on both and the comfort level more or less the same since shoelaces can be loosened or tightened accordingly.

Bring the sock together (which you wear for your running session) to test each size, get the right one (best timing to buy new shoe is afternoon/evening).

Even same model but different generations may have different cutting.

IMHO, if you want to try Asics lighter version shoe, can look at Tartherzeal series, with come with WIDE cutting model also (despite regular and fit cutting).

Which definitive guide to running would you recommend to a beginner? Preferably one that focuses on running form and how to make training plan.

Agree with u, Tartherzeal is very light.......7mm for me is acceptable. I have a pair of Tarther Japan, which came with 10mm heel drop, really feel not so comfortable as compared to Tartherzeal. doh.gif

yaya, once used to lower heel drop shoe, will feel "cushion" type shoe not so responsive especially for interval/tempo run (my personal experience).

I think I got confused now

MV outlet is Studio R as shown in receipt and the signage show Stadium...

Anyway, I got my 3rd shoe, with 50% discount. Should be enough to last 6 months. By then only find again.

The shoe I really wanted to get is NB minimalist with vibram sole... Too bad no more and if have no discount.
Somehow im not willing to pay RM300plus for NB shoe.
