It's significantly more expensive than Tune hotel. A single room for 3 hrs is rm235, a double is rm358....you can get a 12hr double for rm250 with Agoda sometimes, which is about the same as a 24hrs tune hotel room....

My conclusion is, better off with tune hotel....if just a few hrs during daytime, tune has their day stay rooms for much cheaper...

Alternatively, use the container....

For overnight stays
Like u say, a 12 hours in PPL is RM250 which is about the same as a 24 hrs Tune Hotel. For transit passenger, not many needed 24 hours.

And PPL is a lot nearer and convenience for tired travelers.

So it all depends on the situation. If you needed 24 hrs and day time only, of course Tune Hotel is cheaper.

I believe this is fair move.. I’ve one time entering PPL and saw an uncle come in n when the PPL staff asked for boarding pass, he said he hasn’t check in, n when PPL staff asked him which flight he is taking, he said he didn’t even buy ticket yet.. n ended up PPL staff still let him go in..

This is obviously the landside lounges, which are the ones abused....

Airside lounges no issue about non-travellers entering....

SCB VS? Which card is that?
For SCB and other cards, just show boarding pass, passport and CC.

Priority Pass is usually for cards that require invitation or Priority banking customers. PP is best used in overseas lounges.

SCB only has two cards with lounge access.

Please be specific which one you are referring to.

Black - world miles.

Blue- visa infinite - this card doesn’t link to priority pass anymore. It uses LoungeKey which is by swiping cc.

Sifu2, what are entry level cards (RM60,000 p.a.) that has overseas lounge access? Either conditional or not, doesn't matter.

Hi all,

I'm new in this topic. So please bear with me if my question sounds silly.

I've just received my Ambank Signature Priority Banking Word Mastercard yesterday.

Can any kind soul tell me in detail what this card can and cannot do (in terms of enjoying "privileges" in airport)?

Also, say I fly domestically with Airasia/Malindo/Firefly etc, am I entitled to access to any one of these lounges?

Thanks.

Well, basically is a the most useless card you holding right now for domestic flight. Zero access to domestic PPL.

It depends on which lounge are you going.
Usually entry level card doesn't offer lounge access.
Nearest I think is HSBC which requires 72k annual income.
If you have enough savings, enroll for a priority banking card.
Else, pledge FD for MBB VI.

Google "Ambank Signature Priority Banking Word Mastercard"
Scroll down and look for "Airport Lounge Access", read the T&C and participating lounges.
Generally, you must have a ticket to enter the lounge, once per day (although you entitled for unlimited access).
Unfortunately, Ambank has downgraded the privileges in August and I think none of the domestic lounges accepting it.

Just saw your post after replying him.
Agree that it is useless for domestic lounge.
Nevertheless I am still hesitating to terminate it for the following reasons:
1. Sub-card holder is ELIGIBLE for entering PPL (not many cards allow this nowadays)
2. Still offer quite a lot overseas lounges (of course can't compare with Priority Pass / Loungekey)
3. Unlimited access for Priority banking (anyway, I will opt for other bank instead if go for priority)

In summary, the ambank signature cards gives you and your supplementary cardholders unlimited entries into the list of ppl.....

It's quite an extensive list worldwide....but because of abuses in the past, they removed the landside lonuges in KLIA2 and also strangely, lounges in the secondary airports of Penang, kk and Kuching....which effectively means NO domestic access completely....

Thanks for the replies.

I did read the t&c but not sure whether I can enjoy the so-called privilege if I’m traveling, say, on AirAsia. All I can see in the t&c is, you have to produce your boarding pass...

But if I'm travelling domestically from KLIA, I can still use the PPL (although I read someone said that it was time consuming), right?

In fact I don’t need the “priority” as well. It’s just that the officer asked me to apply and I thought it’s a VERY GOOD card... lol

Access is not dependent on airline....

And as stated several times, travelling domestically will no longer entitle you to enter ANY lounge with the ambank cards.... irrespective of which airport you use....

Thanks, Charlesj. I’m flying to Delhi this February. Visa Infinite does have lounge access there for free. How do I go about pledging the fix deposit process? Just walk up to the counter and tell them I’d like to apply for credit card and pledging the money?

You may try that. If the branch is not helpful, you may go to Maybank card center or call CS and ask about it.
