Ppl klia is getting too crowded.... sometimes can't even find a seat....and I believe they are upgrading part of it as well...flight club is new and under used so they divert some people there....
I use ppl mainly for a shower and rest....so I will insist on using ppl rather than FC... |

the changi ppl also has a small selection of ala carte menu, in addition to the usual small buffet spread...the menu changes with the time of day....and after 11pm, they remove the buffet, leaving only the ala carte...

QUOTE(bearbear @ Aug 6 2016, 12:55 PM) PPL Terminal One? Yes the only one ppl in t1...that's the standard 4 ala carte choices, but after 11pm, the menu charges, can't remember what...the buffet is very small...worse than klia....I thought the choice are 4? bfast, chicken rice, laksa or udon. I went this morning, bfast time really not worth cause only bfast set then buffet serve noodle, baked beans and sausage. |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Aug 6 2016, 06:23 PM) Skyview was closed last December, and they have rebranded as Dnata at another location. Good thing about Skyview was that there was an upper non-windowed section, which if lights were dimmed or switched off, was nice for sleeping. And they imposed no time limit. I had slept on cushions placed on the floor there overnight. Saved $75 from renting a 6hr room. |

Entering different lounges within a day, no problem...I have entered 3 different lounges within one day.... albeit they were in 3 separate airports... |

It is not sustainable.... Ambank will go back to previous rule next year.....

the problem is that there are ppl and green market located in public area at klia2, which is open to anyone, whether traveling or not....and people make use of it as free meals...
if it is restricted to just actual passengers (departing or arriving with a valid boarding pass), it will cut off a lot of usage... |

I think almost everybody at ppl will be on complimentary entry, either cc based or on business class with an airline affiliated to use ppl as their j lounge...i suspect very few people will actually want to pay for it....
for most cc, they will slot and print a slip, which you will sign, and keep a copy, like for any cc purchase...but the slip is not the same as the usual cc payment slip... if any cc is not accepted, they will inform you...and ask if you want to pay to enter... never been to welness spa....seldom fly aa...but it should work out the same... beer is foc, but any other liquor is chargeable... changi ppl also has private rooms which you need to pay extra to use...of course ppl gateway is itself a "transit hotel" with rooms for rent, although at the price they charge, might as well go get a tune hotel room... |

QUOTE(ic no 851025071234 @ Aug 8 2016, 10:04 PM) the founder is/was a malaysian...but the parent company is based in hk...they are very aggressively opening a lot of pay lounges internationally, but what is entitled by any bank cc is based on the bank's list, not the ppl network list....eg rhb cards only entitled to msia based ppl....maybank includes many international airports, but not the new bne lounge, which is in the ambank list... |

QUOTE(ic no 851025071234 @ Aug 8 2016, 10:12 PM) Ok thanks. Something I should take note. I notice for showers need to pay not included in the lounge access. shower is free, if the lounge has the facility...it is not available in all lounges...that is the main reason i go to the lounges...to freshen up before especially a long haul red eye flight...Usually is nice to have shower when long flights. |

QUOTE(ic no 851025071234 @ Aug 8 2016, 10:22 PM) Ok thanks. Good to hear that. How to know if free or not? Need to ask the staff? Cos I notice in the plaza website it has different price than lounge access. Some people just want a shower...so there is a separate price for shower alone...but they have no right to use the lounge and avail the food.... |

QUOTE(ic no 851025071234 @ Aug 8 2016, 10:33 PM) They can diffferentiate? Is it different location? That is meant for paying customers....have a shower only...not sure if that is often....but in the past i have paid for a shower at changi, before i have free lounge access...this paid/cc/pp lounge concept is relatively new...in the past you only get airlines lounges....Like dat if my access is limited and I go the shower and then go the lounge consider as 2 entries? your cc will allow you entry and full use of the place, including showers, food, drinks including beer.... |

QUOTE(ic no 851025071234 @ Aug 9 2016, 08:43 AM) when this perk started, it was pp....and pp has a much wider network of affiliated lounges, including some airlines ones (eg korean air in korea and japan)...so if you travel widely, pp will cover more airports...have used it in mad, ath, ist, muc, dxb, doh, icn, nrt....places ppl has no presence....ppl initially only had limited locations, in msia and hk....but has aggressively expanded since....but is still limited compared to pp.... only a few banks now still issued pp...maybank stopped just 6 months ago...not sure which banks still give pp... Ppl is a company that runs a collection of airport lounges under various names, including ppl, green market, wellness spa, flight club etc...it has arrangement with banks, airlines and other bodies to admit specified customers for free or at discounted rates...it currently only has 30+ lounges in the group...
In the case of cc holders, you respective bank will have an arrangement with ppl to admit you to specified ppl outlets, and only these...not others not listed by your bank... there is no ppl card, but you use your cc to enter.... On the other hand, pp is an international membership organisation which does not own or run any lounge at all....it however has arrangements with more than 900 airport lounges all over the world, to enable members to enter for free...ppl being one them... You can join pp anytime, for a fee....the fee depends on how many entries you want...and as a pp member, you can enter ANY lounge in the list...so it has much wider coverage than ppl.... If you have pp from the bank, the bank is paying for your membership...and you will be issued a separate pp card for entry....you do NOT need to show your cc to enter...
