Hey guys. Should I get an AP ROO Volcano or Bumblebee? I feel like adding some color to my collection.
Will these watches age well? Spending around 100k, so just want to make sure that these watches will age well.. |

QUOTE(kiasunkiasi @ Nov 25 2016, 06:08 PM) bro, mind to share you opinion on this Vintage Red? Don't like the 2.0, I think they went too much to try and get that vintage look by having the dial to greythe OVR 2.0 looks even more vintage, but the opinion on grey dial seems split This imo looks perfect with a blend of vintage and modern elements to it |

I think between this 3 the Safari would age the best due to its classic appearance. Volcano and Bumblebee with its funky colours might not suite others in the futureWill these watches age well? Most of the stuff in my collection are black and grey. Thought it would be nice to have a funky yellow or orange. But it will still be awhile before I pull the trigger as I only managed to save up 50k so far.. |

QUOTE(friedricetheman @ Nov 25 2016, 06:43 PM) Apple_DarreN Personally I think having that funky color would break how it would age well.Safari is a bit bland. But it will still be awhile before I pull the trigger as I only managed to save up 50k so far.. Something that ages well especially in design wise are usually those that keep things simple, per say many vintage Rolex pieces that are now highly sought after (Take the PN Daytona for example) are often very simple in terms of the touches in design, there's no hanky panky around with colours like that the volcano and bumbleebee is doing Just my pov This post has been edited by Apple_DarreN: Nov 25 2016, 06:47 PM |

QUOTE(tjwn @ Nov 22 2016, 11:48 PM) offcourse the rose with smiley dial, the production period was short...is rare I think the plus point after reading in other forums would be being ETA.the only watch auction black bay that sold for 375k CHF is also having the rose logo + point : ETA movement that you could go for servicing much cheaper - point: refer back the + point.... QUOTE(fuzzy @ Nov 23 2016, 12:53 AM) Yeah that does bring back the 'classic' look.QUOTE(Apple_DarreN @ Nov 24 2016, 05:38 PM) I'd say go for the ETA, read online about the new movement and apparently if there's any flaw on the movement you have to send it back to Rolex (HQ at the mean time I think, as not all the watchmaker go through training on the new movement yet) themselves to fix it. Being a new movement people should see this coming. Couldn't find the thread on WUS that talked about this I guess I'll probably go for the old ETA ones while its still available at hand. Atleast I know this is gonna be my keeper so it doesn't really matter whether its in-house or not.Oh and the in house BBB has rivet styled bracelet. Looks weird imo when Tudor "modernised" the look on the dial but has that vintage rivet bracelet on. |

QUOTE(Apple_DarreN @ Nov 25 2016, 09:14 PM) Yea I managed to book one from one of the AD's and they are reserving it for me both the ETA and in-house.I was still deciding which one to go for and its plainly due to aesthetics factor. Don't really care whether its a 2824 or an in-house with over 70hrs power reserve etc.. Guess now I know my choice...just need the push factor. Thanks buddy. |
