QUOTE(r3kahsttub @ Aug 3 2016, 09:45 AM) Was at a dinner celebrating the 85th anniversary of Reverso last night. Just for sharing; hands on with the 2016 Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon. Was told that this was smaller and slimmer than the 2008 Gyrotourbillon 2, and seems to wear very nicely on my wrist. But, I can still hear my wallet laughing at me... lies!![]() ur wallet is probably crying now and thinking of the 14th floor. wonder if u can even make it pass 5 weeks now... |

QUOTE(Apple_DarreN @ Aug 3 2016, 06:05 PM) A little late but what not. how thin is thin? 2mm?Still thinking whether to have them ordered. Strap is made from genuine italian calfskin, this model is a tad thin and very soft (no/minimal padding) Other sifu do give me some feedback, appreciate it kenji1903 ![]() 3mm still acceptable...anything less is zzz. got any straight taper ones? ie. lug and clasp same width. |

QUOTE(Apple_DarreN @ Aug 3 2016, 07:00 PM) 2mm. very minimal padding hence the softness of the strap overall. 2mm usually more suited for dress pieces. Do have some as samples, the usual kinds that has a large padding in the middle and stiching on the sides. i still prefer thicker with straight taper, and better fit case profile when put on thicker divers |

QUOTE(Apple_DarreN @ Aug 4 2016, 01:58 PM) Working on that, but probably will bring in NATO leather first. Zulu still sourcing quality ones if its going to be 2mm also, the nato leather gonna be quite thick under caseback. Thanks i got one which i actually cut off the bottom piece so essentially becomes a zulu. |

QUOTE(r3kahsttub @ Aug 5 2016, 01:42 PM) THG officiated their Gardens boutique last night. Went to kepo and tried out the 41mm OP. A bit big, but I think can easily be dressed down, or up. I think 39mm would be perfect. thats interesting.![]() looks like the cyclops magnifying power has been getting lower... |

QUOTE(Apple_DarreN @ Aug 5 2016, 05:24 PM) I think the cyclops thing is a QC problem, some of them have ridiculously low mag and from what I read before that rolexforums is that you can bring back to SC and they'll change it for you. actually those still look quite low. Some of Rolex's rehaut engraving isn't straight at 12'oclock (senget), another QC thing edit: image attached taken from watchuseek » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « then again, the higher ones i think are vintage. and at current magnification, really isnt any different from fakes now right? ![]() This post has been edited by Everdying: Aug 5 2016, 05:41 PM |

QUOTE(Apple_DarreN @ Aug 5 2016, 05:46 PM) Old vs new is understandable as the old rollies are really work watches and people actually dive with them (akhem, x macam desk-diver kita skrang) yea, makes u wonder who does the QC now...or perhaps cyclops are manufactured elsewhere and they have too much trust in them...The problem is now that since Rolex knows about this problem and yet provides free service to change them, why won't they remove them from ADs before selling them? The first sub tt from the picture i posted look just like an awful fake lol i guess the vintage ones had higher mag cos they were made from plexi...to me thats how the cyclops has been ingrained into my mind...that distorted high mag view. |

QUOTE(r3kahsttub @ Aug 7 2016, 01:57 PM) Honestly, on mine, it is very very faint. You'd miss it at first sniff. Like, you'd need to SNIIIIIFFFFFFFFFF to get a whiff of vanilla. I had to do this behind closed doors, else people can hear. fake isofrane? even my oris rubber strap the vanilla smell was quite strong. |
