For AGP system i wonder why high end 7 series very limited. The 6800XT AGP still available on shelf.
*
because agp series are obsoleting, if the demand is low then the production cost will be high.

newbie here, just wanna ask wheter there is smth wrong with my gc, is there any performance difference in AGP and PCI E gc in terms of the 3dMark?

my rig:
CPU: Intel P4 3.0E HT
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G 865PE
RAM: Kingston 512MB DDR 400Mhz

i recently bought a XFX 7600gt AGP 256 DDR3 at PISA PC Fair, when i run the 3dMark2003, i only hv a score of 11k, is this the usual score for 7600gt AGP? sad.gif

coz my fren using leadtek 7300gt PCIE and he also score bout 11k for his 3dMark03. sweat.gif

hope all the sifu there can clear my disturbance.............

Not sure about 7600GT AGP. But users of 7300GT shows that the PCIE version scored 50% more points in 3D Mark when compared to AGP users.

Are u sure? 7600GT wont utilise 100% pcie bandwidth, unless u compare 8800GTS pcie and agp(even though it wont be available).

Yeah, that's a bit lower than usual. Here's the score for my 7600GT PCIE (Overclocked at 640/750). Default settings on 3Dmark03.

Your CPU could be the bottleneck but I'm not too sure. Remember that the AGP is slightly slower than the PCI-E, about 2-5% IIRC....

Yup. Default 3Dmark03 settings (1024x768 right?). Can't change the settings as it is the shareware non-registered version.

Yeah, I was surprised myself. Why? Look at the figures below:

3Dmarks03
7800GS EE (AGP) - OC 475/715 : 9666
7600GT (PCIE) - OC 640/750: 15566

3Dmarks06 (remember, the 06 is also CPU dependent)
7800GS EE - OC 475/715 : 3610 total, sm2.0 - 1407, HDR/sm3.0 - 1354 (CPU 1956)
7600GT - OC 690/790 : 3952 total, sm2.0 - 1556, HDR/sm3.0 - 1390 (CPU 2700)

Based on the above scores, I wonder why the 7600GT scored so high in 3Dmarks03 rclxub.gif rclxub.gif (as in 3Dmarks06, they are about the same..... hmm.gif)

Edit : I'm using the latest driver..... errr 182.16, I think....
