icic....if i OVER'overclakced"....wat will happened?? whole GC fried up ?

Before it is 'cooked' you should see artifact on your screen..

terlebih-overclock gc will bear little damage to the card
the whole system will first show artifacts, and if still continue, will cause the pc to freeze

where as different in terlebih over voltage the card
you will simply burn components in the card

either it hang or show you artifacts.

ATItool can help you find out maximum core / memory for your GC.

long term overclock will definitely shorten the life. the question is how long can it endure before it die... use better cooling to reduce the effect

and also casing air-flow too. it'll help a lot.

the thing is some people run at max capable speed / core. while this is alright, i think that if possible - lower it by a little.

say your max stable OC is 800 / 1000. so instead of running it kau kau that high, you can reduce it by 5 - 20mhz. just lose a few frames but at least your card not that stressed.

wat artifact?? can be more detail?

i dint put any extra cooler le....

simple - as long as your output is DISTORTED like weird colored polygons appearing or flickering, tat's artifact.

i also didn't put extra cooler what.

As long as not going too far from the limit the overclock will be safe.Most of our members here also doing overclocking on the CPU,RAM and display cards.

CPU and Ram alos can do overaclocking....!!!!!

for 7 series, GT > GS.
for 8 series, GST > GT > GS.

btw, i wish someone can tell me what is the meaning as well...

GT is usually stands for mid-range
GS is for entry level for that particular model, eg 7900GS/7600GS/7300GS, they all slower than their GT counterparts

GTX is for high-end range
GTS is new term for 8 series, its ranked between GTX and GT

think no need to explain ATI nomenclature here lor

need help from 7800gtx owner..which driver version is compatible with this gc?i only get 5k in 3d mark2005..
and get problem to run GRAW2 with full setting,graphic just like an artifact i think....only can run in low setting..
others game like R6 Vegas run very smoothly.. needs help

mind to tell which version of driver u using?

GTX should be 512MB right? There should be no problem at the highest setting for GRAW2.
