I understand one straight forward way to setup VOIP on ubiquiti (I am using MAXIS Fibrenet ) is via the the VOIP port on the USG.
With the MAXIS router (TP-Link AC1200 C5v), I just connect the old fashion analog phone cable (with RJ11 connectors ?) directly into the TP-Link router. (I then have the old analog phone with extensions to 2 other phones around the house). So my question is what device/adaptor do I need that connects to the USG VOIP Port that will provide analog RJ11 ports ? (I prefer not to have to buy IP phones and retire my analog phone infrastructure)
What are my options ? Thanks
NOTE. I don't need a PABX system. I just want to be able to use my existing old fashion analog phones.
There is no other options other than getting a smart switch in between your fibre modem and routers.
Eg;
Fibre ---> smart switch ---> tag vlan 621 & 822 --> tplink --> phone
........................................\
..........................................--> tag vlan 621 --> USG
Yes, u need to tag both vlan 621 and 822 to make voip work on maxis homeline phone. Last year i only need to tag 822 and it works perfectly. But suddenly it needed 621 together to work. Weird but thats the only workaround i can find so far.
