Not really UBNT-related but, after some thought, I've decided not yet to go for Edgerouter-X. Why?
1. My initial plan is to have traffic monitoring & DPI like UBNT Unifi. My office is using Unifi solution across an entire building of 31 floors with 70-80 UAP-ACs. Unifi dashboard is really impressive. 2. I believe full Unifi solution is too expensive for my home use. Need to buy USG, Cloud Key & 3 UAP-AC. Even if I only use USG & run Cloud Key on cloud, that still cost RM500++ for USG. 3. Edgerouter has DPI & traffic summaries, but it's only for 30 minutes. UNMS hosted on cloud can store bandwidth summaries, but DPI history still not yet implemented on UNMS. Therefore, I went for this setup instead: 1. TP-Link C1200 as router & file-sharing server. Wifi disabled. VLAN untagging & HyyPTV is offloaded to item 2. 2. TP-Link SG108E for VLAN untagging & port mirroring. 3. D-Link DIR-868L as wired AP at living area for ground floor Wifi. 4. 2 units of D-Link DIR-850L as wired APs to cover first floor. Both bought second hand to save cost 5. All wired via in-wall CAT 5E cables. 6. Re-purposed my wife's old Acer Switch 10 (installed Ubuntu), connected to SG108E's mirror port, running ntopng. Total cost (including cables & wire strippers) : RM 380 With 3 APs, I'm getting excellent Wifi speed (300-400mbps) great coverage (slowest is 130mbps) across the entire house. ntopng also looks impressive |

Need a favor. I have an USG connected to a POE switch & a cloud key. I try multiple times to get it to work but didnt happen. On the setup page, choose dhcp also doesnt work, pppoe also doesnt work. Anybody can point me to the right direction? My data is bad at home so unable to scroll thru all prev pages here to study. Tq2 |

QUOTE(pandera999 @ Jan 16 2019, 09:49 PM) Thx for the prompt reply bro. Anyhow, my setup just now on the gateway setup screen, i chose PPPOE option, key in Unifi id & password. Save, then nada. Nothing. Error or something. Connection was TM BTU > USG. Tested via dhcp by using the TM Router > USG. Also doesnt go to internet to proceed setup. |

Or do I need to reset it first? Thanks thanks thanks |
