And this is at network side.

Thanks, will give it a try later

Btw, if you planning to get the unbt AP, you might want to check out the design tool. I find it useful to check out coverage area. Better if you have schematic of your house layout.

https://design.ui.com/

Edit again. Also, wifiman app from Ubiquiti is good tool to check wifi.

Yep, checked
I need an U6 Pro in the living room with an IW6 in the furthest room
Probably will get everything sorted out end of the month

just curious what's the draw to Ubiquiti since it's not supported in Malaysia ?

I still have a few sites using their CCTV & Wifi when the app was locally available a decade ago but alot of their competitors have caught up in ease of use & stability

Enthusiast level products, and for intermediate/advance homelabbers that can't pay Cisco/Aruba tier pricing.

Ubi products are comparable to proper enterprise gear but costs way less to the same tier of products offered. And not to mention the buy once use "forever" idealogy. UDM Pro for example, is released in Feb of 2019. Till now, it still has proper support/software updates from Ubiquiti and has no signs of EOL **yet**.

You mean the Unifi app for mobile? That's because "Unifi" trademark issue. There are others apps that available. Also, there is cloud based access if you need to manage remotely.

Software updates is one of important consideration for me. I'm only have Mikrotik and Ubiquiti devices. Not sure about other brand.

Software quality is definitely a big weak spot. It looks pretty but I think it's not robust and bullet-proof unlike proper enterprise stuff. It requires too much testing and baby sitting.

They really need to improve their software QA and QC.

I just wish they'd bring back an In-Wall with Wifi 7 which fits over a standard 86 mm x 86 mm (wall plug) mount hole.

Unfortunately, my Ethernet mount point is placed next to the AC sockets so I cannot accommodate the new IWs which are too wide.

Just bought UCG-Fiber 20 days ago and now running flawlessly. (Replaced my Archer BE550 Wifi) biggrin.gif

My friend give me his U6-LR which is he said got issue with 5Ghz, trying to set 80mhz but the AP still showing 40mhz. Try to play around and set different settings also same. Any issue on that?

The AP already update to the latest firmware

You check out from dealer at Shopee (Subtel, Syncroweb). U7 Pro XG still available at Syncroweb. UCG Fiber sold out (last I checked).

Since you have tested many devices, do share some example. I'm interested to know. The software includes the firmware for AP and Unifi OS?

- Check if issue persist when using different channel
- does restart help?
- maybe it is a bug?
- double check the settings on ubnt controller and Unifi app (if you use it)

Still cannot? Ask Google smile.gif

AP control from the UCGF biggrin.gif

Everything done, i think this AP got issue with 5Ghz. 2.4Ghz no issue at all. Even before update to new firmware also same. But never mind, still can use although can't get full speed of it. Later i will buy a new AP. Not sure either U6 or U7 (not sure MLO still got issue or not)

Agree on software end, enterprise grade hardware but but falls extremely short on software

It's just Ubiquiti's pattern at this point, release unfinished software and make the user the beta tester, but with that it also allows them to keep their hardware cheaper when compared, just the gambit of Ubiquiti ecosystem tongue.gif

Ah.. forgot about the UCG Fiber. What I means to say is if you using Unifi app to configure, it could be the reason. If all configure from UCG then we can rule that out.

From what I heard last time, MLO still a bit janky. I'm using U6 pro and NanoHD. U6 pro is perfect for 500Mbps. But for 1Gb plan, I only get 600-800Mbps (80MHz). I didn't bother with 160MHz, because it's using DFS channel.

Asking for some suggestions here
Recently I just upgraded to 1Gbps fiber plan, with symmetric speed
I'm using UCG Ultra with Asus AX88U as AP
However, I noticed a problem...whenever I restarted the UCG without restarting 88U...I wont be getting IPV6 from clients under the AP

Probably be changing out the AP, but U6 Pro doesnt seems to be that good for 1Gbps plan? Also, my house is right beside the airport which means 160mhz would constantly getting DFS and fell back to 80mhz

Looking for some suggestions for hardware
I have 6 wired devices, 10+ wireless (half of it are wifi 7 capable)
Need a powerful AP for the front of the house, while having an inwall AP at the back for a single room

I would go with u7 pro xgs (4x4) or pro xg (2x2). 6GHz only works well with line of sights, no obstacles. Should be able to get 1Gbps speed or more with wifi 7.

You can always buy 1 and see the performance. @yenchenje using E7, he can comment on wifi 7 performance.

I'm thinking about
Keep the UCG Ultra
Add a Lite 8 PoE
Get an U7 Pro XGS + IW6 (back room)
Would this be sensible?

When DHCPv6 PD change, a properly functioning router will multicast a new Router Advertisement.

If only WiFi client have the problem, then it's very possible the Asus block it due to some configuration.

There are quite a number of setting that reduce airtime utilization like multicast enhancement, which basically transmit only selected frame and to each client independent instead of using base rate.
ARP proxy learn the ARP, cache them and will eat up all future ARP transmission and just read from cache.

You need to try disabling those one by one till you found the culprit. But sounds like a firmware bug in Asus.
