slightly confused :

1. Does Dream Machine (UMD-Pro) support PoE ?
2. Are all Cat5e cables PoE or is there specific cables for PoE ?

sorry if this is OT, but I'm trying to source for UniFi Video NVR which has been discontinued.

any chance of members having a new or used unit to let go ? fine with 512GB or 2TB.

Why not just use UniFi Protect? The old one is using UniFi Video AFAIK

Protect is RM2.5k ? See-ing how fast Ubiquiti made their Video NVR obsolete (including removing the app from app store), not willing to spend more and end up getting stuck again !

I just want to get my 20 G3 cameras back to recording sad.gif

Seeing this thread reminded me

What are y'all's experiences with Unifi gear so far?

Currently looking at pre-ordering a Pro Max 24 PoE instead of Enterprise 24 PoE/TL-SG3428XPP-M2 from Omada to be my main core switch

But people have been going around with Unifi's stuff being more and more worst especially software side. Hardware is still good in the recent stuff from what I've also heard

P/S: I currently only have a 3 Unifi camera (1 Instant) + CK and all Omada AP setup. So I'm not terribly attached to the eco system side of stuff.

can't comment on the network side, but been using UniFi cams since 2016. About 40+ of them, and still works well (some of the outdoor have "wash-ed out color"but otherwise wouldn't know they've been running for 8 years now in rain and shine.

have replaced the most of the NVR with CloudKey and definitely heads and shoulders above DaHua. Especially since it shows snap shots of what triggered the movement instead of wasting time scrolling through the recorded footage.

Downside is no official app support in MY.

Don’t think changing region with VPN works, I just side load on android, I change my region on iOS to SG to download the Unifi apps.

for iOS, does it require SG credit card / address to change region ? and how soon can it be changed back to Malaysia ?

just curious what's the draw to Ubiquiti since it's not supported in Malaysia ?

I still have a few sites using their CCTV & Wifi when the app was locally available a decade ago but alot of their competitors have caught up in ease of use & stability
