Do you guys normally use excel or google sheets to keep track of each transaction to see if it meets the requirement for that month?

I have written a very easy to use credit card manager app for Android and should be useful for Wise users. It also has due date reminders base on each of your card's statement cycle plus a whole lot more features.

And it's free!

Yes, but it's the RM2000 minimum per month that's hard to fulfil. If you fall short, then you lose all cashback.

Worse for consumers, Better for HLB... Banks are wiser now since a lot of users stick to RM985 spends only.
Hitting RM2000 in Calendar Month purely on the 3 selected categories is more difficult than RM50 x 10 transactions

I think I just have to transfer all my insurance payment and maintenance charges to HLB Wise to make good of RM1k, then swipe another RM1k for the selected categories. Loss of cashback for insurance and maintenance charges would roughly be RM5.00 (assuming about 0.5% of RM1,000). Guess it will still be alright.
*
not really...
lets say u got RM100 cash back per month out of 2000 spending per month, this is consider 5% cash back, which everyone knows...

then u forgot annual fee RM169.6 assuming u using gold card, not platinum card...
all those cash back minus the annual fee, how many % cash back per month left?

just fyi... cry.gif cry.gif

No, you are not confined to expenses on the selected categories for the 2k expenses. But only the 3 categories get cashback, and you don't have to 10xRM50 any more

Thanks for your sharing. I have 1 question, how can we use the cash back if we have cancelled the card (card blocked)? Can they transfer to other bank account or send cheque to us?

Put it this way, if I don't swipe my insurance using Wise card, I would be using other card which gives me roughly 0.5% cashback on the amount swiped.

Total Cashback currently I get is about RM105 on RM2,000 (RM1,000 of Insurance etc and RM1,000 on Mobile, Groceries and Petrol), it's still about 5% (5.25%) anyway. Now, with those payment made from Wise card, RM1,000 on Insurance etc will not earn anything, but I will still be getting RM100 from Mobile, Groceries and Petrol. That's how I see it. smile.gif

Annual fee is not in the picture yet of course but that's what I have to pay no matter what.

Thinking out loud on strategy for new T&C:

1. Swipe RM980 at POS Online (to pay AEON Credit), pay RM20 convenience fee

2. Then if If I swipe RM1,000 per month on WISE chosen categories, get RM100

Total spend is RM2,000, net cashback received is RM80 (i.e. 4% return). Plus, there's the benefit of delaying AEON Credit payment by 1 month.

If annual fee can be waived, then this is still fairly competitive since the highest cashback cards are only around 5% (max 6% for PBB VS).

Let's do a scenario analysis shall we?

Scenario 1:
Slightly more if I use Essential to pay Insurance. 0.6% on RM1,000 would be RM6.
Insurance etc RM1000 x 0.6% (Essential) = RM6
Petrol RM300 x 5% (Ikhwan/One - Weekend) = RM15
Mobile RM250 x 2% (One - Weekend) = RM5
Groceries RM450 x 5% (Ikhwan) = RM22.50

Total monthly = RM48.50
No annual fee so total 12 month will be RM582

Scenario 2:
If I use Wise:
Insurance etc RM1000 x 0% = RM0
Petrol Mobile Groceries RM1000 x 10% = RM100

Total monthly = RM100.00
With annual fee of RM170, total 12 month will be RM1,030

The crucial point would be the additional RM1,000 on other spending, whether one is able to hit it or not.
