Without Alonso Renault wouldn't have won those championships. And he didn't go behind Flavio's back and signed a pre contract 2 years before his contract with Renault ended. He told Flavio he wanted a new challenge and McLaren obviously wanted a new driver knowing that Kimi would leave.but i know if i mentioned this, u would same this d case for msc too... |

And he didn't go behind Flavio's back and signed a pre contract 2 years before his contract with Renault ended. He told Flavio he wanted a new challenge and McLaren obviously wanted a new driver knowing that Kimi would leave. Yep, he talked to Ron after the 05' Brazillian GP that he wanted to join the team. Ron, who always wanted to emulate another Prost/Senna team (he didn't know Kimi is joining Ferrari), immediatly agreed. At the end of the season, Fernando told Flavio, and while Flav wanted Fernando to stay, he can do nothing. The fact that we knew it early is because it was leaked by some reporter, and Ron, being Ron, don't want some obsecure newspaper beat him and release a full press statement.Added on April 9, 2007, 5:48 pmFastest Laps Qualification 1) Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 22 1:36.701 2) Fernando Alonso McLaren-Mercedes 42 1:36.861 3) Felipe Massa Ferrari 42 1:37.199 4) Kimi Rikknen Ferrari 40 1:37.228 5) Nick Heidfeld BMW 55 1:37.417 6) Nico Rosberg Williams 18 1:37.704 7) Heikki Kovalainen Renault 41 1:37.810 8) Alexander Wurz Williams 19 1:37.864 9) Giancarlo Fisichella Renault 44 1:37.879 10) Jarno Trulli Toyota 40 1:38.016 11) David Coulthard Red Bull-Renault 28 1:38.098 12) Vitantonio Liuzzi STR-Ferrari 21 1:38.447 13) Takuma Sato Super Aguri-Honda 37 1:38.496 14) Mark Webber Red Bull-Renault 55 04 1:38.540 15) Rubens Barrichello Honda 32 1:38.566 16) Jenson Button Honda 54 1:38.658 17) Robert Kubica BMW 53 1:38.874 18) Scott Speed STR-Ferrari 54 1:39.098 19) Ralf Schumacher Toyota 52 1:39.243 20) Anthony Davidson Super Aguri-Honda 32 1:39.566 21) Christijan Albers Spyker-Ferrari 5 1:41.495 Fernando: Ferrari is still faster QUOTE Fernando Alonso is well aware that Ferrari won't take the Malaysian GP defeat lying down and expects a fightback in Sunday's Bahrain race. Despite having, arguably, the fastest car on the grid at the Malaysian Grand Prix, Ferrari lost out to the McLarens on the opening lap of the race and from there on struggled to cope. Alonso, though, doesn't believe Sunday's win means McLaren are now the team to beat as he concedes Ferrari do, at least for now, have the fastest car on the grid. Asked how he predicts the Bahrain GP will pan out, the reigning F1 Champion said: "It is difficult to know. "I think there will not be big changes in the cars between here and there because there are only four days between the races, so the cars will not be developed, so we should again be competitive. "But the Ferrari was a little bit quicker than everybody in the test so I still believe it will be very, very hard to beat them again so I think we will have again a difficult weekend." However, his team boss Ron Dennis has vowed to do all he can to ensure that Alonso and Hamilton have the pace needed to challenge the Ferraris for the victories and, ultimately, the World titles. "We will try to come to Bahrain with a lap time improvement and we will certainly be in Spain with a significant lap time improvement, and we will do everything we can to win both world championships," he told Autosport. "But there is an awful long way to go yet and this is the second race. We are under no illusions." This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Apr 9 2007, 05:48 PM |

Very very impressive indeed performance by the young debut Lewis Hamilton, being so determined under pressure by the reds and his own teammate back in the Austrialian Grand Prix, he made no mistake!
Ron Dennis's the key man for bringing this young man in.. Great job by Mclaren.. IMO, Hamilton could be a real threat for the first debut to win the Championship Title. Having podium finish in both of his races in his debut season, that is way-too-good. Keep up the good work, may you win the title, but don't let Mclaren win the contructors title. |

Its only fun and exciting if ur at the circuit there watchingWatching it on TV, its been a boring race. Ever since FIA brought up the front wing and brought forward the rear wing, there's too much turbulence behind an F1 car that any car following behind cant generate enough downforce.... In short, there was no any action on the front... only overtaking for position nobody cares about... |

malaysia boleh but sepang is fill with lots of rubbish ler.....
http://www.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/new...409144919.shtml Sepang records higher Sunday attendance Material for negociation QUOTE The turnout of 115,000, confirmed by F1's governing body, compares to the 107,000 who turned out to watch Michael Schumacher's last race in the country in early 2006. The news has given momentum to Sepang's bid for a three or five-year extension beyond the end of its current contract, after Malaysian Prime Minister attended the circuit on Sunday and met with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone. 35,000 spectators turned up for qualifying on Saturday, but the measly 4,000 on Friday made the grandstands appear bare. Sepang boss Datuk Mokhzani Tun Mahathir, however, confirmed that the PM and Ecclestone met this weekend, revealing: "We will discuss further with Ecclestone to extend the duration of the contract to host the F1 races here."
