are you sure it is about router problem? I am now with unifi turbo 500mbps but my speedtest result is 300mbps. I am considering that it is my router problem but still not 100% confirm. Currently is RT-AC55UHP, CPU reached to 100% when speedtest reach to 300mbps download speed. Most of the time steam download was just around 20MB/s. Feels like the router is not powerful enough. So I was ordered a RT-AC86U, hope will confirm soon whether is my line problem or router problem.

Expected and good enough. Here's my speedtest using WS880 on unifi 500, this router still can handle the traffic

Huawei WS880
380.62

Just noticed this afternoon that I can't access even google.com and a few other sites. Then I tried redcafe.net and the browser prompt me to install some app from gstatic or something. Checked the router, and in Advanced Settings > Lan > DNS and WINS Server Setting > DNS is set to 199.168.99.27 and another ip I forgot to save. In WAN dns settings I set it to google dns. Not sure how long its been that way.

You probably been hacked, through some vulnerability/backdoor, or through remote access/management via open ports.

Did you have remote access management enabled?

I forgot what the setting is called or how to set it, but you can set it to block access to the management GUI from outside your internal network.

I've seen this before. A lot actually
Under "Remote Settings > Enable Web Access from WAN" did you enable it?
If yes, disable it

Hi anyone have experience on getting tplink router from taobao?

https://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.htm...id=576366431854

How reliable, would you think?
TPLINK WDR8650 at RMB 549 for AC2600.
However I believe it will stay in Chinese firmware.

It won't work with TM Unifi and Maxis Fiber because of VLAN tagging. Just giving a heads up.

already update ASUS tmobile 1900 to latest asus merlin firmware 384.7 , need some tweaks to update this router ,,

from merlin 384.5 - downgrade back to tmobile firmware , change Bootloader (CFE) to "1.0.2.0 US AiMesh "

then update to latest Merlin firmware 384.7 smile.gif

Sorry for asking this in this thread. I bought ac86u and intend to flash to merlin. However i found 2 files inside the zip folder, one with typical trx extension (which normally i used to flash merlin on ws880) and another one is cferom-ubi.w

Based on my reading, i should flash directly using *.w file as this is a new filesystem format. Just to confirm whether this is the correct step?

Guys i am referring to the title and my question is there any different between buying local hardware vs oversea(china) except for cost, warranty and maybe firmware? I think even local supply hardware also manufactured at china(i guess biggrin.gif) Do we need to update firmware to suit local malaysia usage?
