My unit after unlock, signal strength increased close to 10dBm for both 2.4g and 5g, at the same time temperature for both 2.4g and 5g chip increased around 2Deg C.
If not mistaken 2.4g and 5g channel also added some.not very sure because did not check properly before enter code. smile.gif

Why do you worry about unlocking it? It's not like the AC68U you bought from Taobao has any warranty

I dont have Ori Asus AC68U but i have Ori TP-Link Archer C7 V4 to compare. before unlock, the signal strength is more or less similar to TP-Link, after unlock, it has more channel and signal strength increase 10dBm.
Ya, why worry so much. for me, buying this refurbish unit is to play around with hardware and Firmware, try to learn as go along. if damaged just dump it.

worried will sudden dead for the WIFI chip ..😏😏

The codes are to unlock the original capability of the wireless chipsets, not overclocking them
So there's nothing to worry about

1. Download and install PuTTY on pc.
2. Enable SSH at router.
3. Run PuTTY and login to router using your router IP, username and password.
4. At PuTTY, key in the code line by line (hit enter after each line).
That is all.
Try watch some youtube how to use PuTTY. easier. smile.gif

My cooler fan came with dust filter. Those filter is like soft foam type. Can replace with daiso dust filter. Anyway its a refurbish router, will not hesitate to open and do spring cleaning on it if needed.

Asking to everyone who bought from Taobao, which local courier did they use for your shipment for local shipping in Malaysia?
Most of my purchases is sent through GDex once it reaches Malaysia
If GDex, the tracking number starts with 863581**** (10 digits)

But this time, the delivery is using another courier which I do not know what company they use for local shipping in Malaysia
The tracking number starts with: 62102506**** (12 digits)

I'm using Dex-i as my courier. Usually it's being handle by ABX in Malaysia.

From Taobao, I usually copy the tracking number (domestic delivery in China) and pass to Dex-i. You can message them directly. Then they'll give me the international tracking number from China to Malaysia. From there i use Dex-i website tracking and will know who's the local courier.

Tried to track in Skynet / ABX website but the it says the tracking number is invalid
Perhaps have to wait for the parcel to reach Malaysia first then only can track

Anyway, about GDex / Skynet service quality, not all of them bad, it actually depends on the location
If their local management is good, then the service will be good
If their local management is bad, then the service will be bad

For example, last time when I was working in Shah Alam, GDex services is really bad, while Skynet is good
Now I’m working in Damansara, GDex service is really good but Skynet is quite bad

I may be wrong guess for the tracking number, try wait awhile more or call them.

But honestly I never encounter good Skynet service ever since, my worst experience ever is delivery address in Bangi but they insist they came but actually never come, end up have to collect the parcel myself at Balakong Skynet branch. sweat.gif
