if u see the screenshot u can understand it clearly biggrin.gif

vista rated the system using 5 main components:

1) processor (calculations per second)

2) memory (memory operations per second)

3) graphics (desktop performance for windows aero)

4) gaming graphic (3d business n gaming graphics performance)

5) primary hdd (disk data transfer rate)

so each of the component will have their own subscore.. but the base score is determined by lowest subscore, which is in my case 5.4 (for my primary hdd)..

the question here is why vista choose lowest subscore as its base score? not the average of the 5 subscores? rolleyes.gif

IMO it's becoz microsoft wants us to make sure what is the bottleneck of our system. let say like mine, for the other 3 components i got 5.9 each. and for 1 component i got 5.7. so the bottleneck is my hdd, and if i want to improve my pc performance, i need to buy a better hdd like raptor or scsi haha..

Ok, I got an E6600 with DS3. If you were me, which RAM will you buy? I'm going to overclock to at least 3.2Ghz.

1) Corsair 6400 XMS2 CL4 4-4-4-12 2 x 1GB = RM1150
2) Mushkin 6400 HP2 CL4 4-5-4-11 2 x 1GB = RM1150
3) Kingston 6400 HyperX CL4 4-4-4-12 2 x 1GB = RM990

Are you overclocking your E6600? what speed you got now? your system is stable is it because you are using watercooling? I'm not planning to use watercooling.

should i just top-up RM100 to get a Micron chip? fyi EM2 is using Aeneon and HP2 is using micron D9GMH.

i already answer some of ur Q at DDR2 Discussion thread....if u wanna go around 3.2Ghz...i dont think u need WC...just buy 3rd party air cooling heatsink for better performance than the stock intel...

i'm using ab9 with e6600es, now oc at 3.006ghz with stock voltage n zeppelin 667 (4-4-4-12) rams without any problem (run superPI, prime, orthos, toast, occt)... i tried 370 fsb but only manage with 1.5 vCPU, 2.2 vdimm, 1.40 vmch n 1.65 vICHIO... stock cooler... i didn't bother to change the hsf coz i'm in aircond room, so till it hit over 70 celcius than i'll change... have any1 tried higher fsb with their e6600??? especially es??? i tried at 380 but i max out the vmch n vichio with 1.56 vcpu... n 2.3 vdimm... i passed superpi but failed orthos n the rest... planning to change to hyper-x 6400... coz i'm only wanted to max out at around 400+ fsb... can it be done n has any1 did it b4??? pls share ur experience... tq... icon_rolleyes.gif
