i'm using ab9 with e6600es, now oc at 3.006ghz with stock voltage n zeppelin 667 (4-4-4-12) rams without any problem (run superPI, prime, orthos, toast, occt)... i tried 370 fsb but only manage with 1.5 vCPU, 2.2 vdimm, 1.40 vmch n 1.65 vICHIO... stock cooler... i didn't bother to change the hsf coz i'm in aircond room, so till it hit over 70 celcius than i'll change... have any1 tried higher fsb with their e6600??? especially es??? i tried at 380 but i max out the vmch n vichio with 1.56 vcpu... n 2.3 vdimm... i passed superpi but failed orthos n the rest... planning to change to hyper-x 6400... coz i'm only wanted to max out at around 400+ fsb... can it be done n has any1 did it b4??? pls share ur experience... tq... icon_rolleyes.gif

finally i can run my pc on e6600 @ 3.6Ghz (400fsb) but at 1.6875vcpu!!! it passed SuperPI n orthos (less than 1 hour n lazy wanna wait) with stock HSF but open side panel n got 6 units of 80mm fans blowing (powered by another PSU)... using kingston hyper-x 6400 (spd 1:1, 4-4-4-12 @ 2.0vdimm)... but i lowered it back 333fsb with stock vcpu, vmch n vichio but vdimm at 2.0v spd 4:5 (ram clock at 832.5MHz)... OC at bios... how to clock to over 400fsb with lower vcpu??? can be done??? my oc skill very limited only...

it idle at 41c (table fan + air cond) but 45c (air cond) without table fan.

i tried lowered the vcpu the but the system became unstable n couldn't run orthos. any idea? i'm using running this in my room now with aircond n room temp is 24c. using stock hsf but open side panel n with a table fan blowing directly to cpu. waiting for new cpu cooler!

setting 2
oc: 400mhz fsb (3.60ghz)
ram: 400mhz (1:1)
timing: 4-4-4-12
vcpu: 1.6875v
vdimm: 2.00v
vmch: 1.45v
vichio: 1.70v

at 400mhz fsb (3.60ghz) @ 1.6875 things became nasty. it idle at 50c (very low aircond, room temp is 28c + 6 low rpm 80mm fan blowing direcly) in my ofis. i have'nt try to lower vmch n vichio. this setting passed orthos for 1+ hour but lazy to continue. i wanna know if anyway can lower the vcpu? it's a bit crazy at nearly 1.7v. will better hsf help lowering vcpu?

both setting passed memtest.

to all sifu out ther...! is it normal to go above 1.5vcpu..?

thank u...

as stated above post.. will lowering temp lower the v core?? i read a few of urs oc result n u guys seems to be able to run at very low v core... not to mention those who r able to undervolt their cpu.. what is the guideline of normal oc v core?? i found temp guide but v core guide any1???

burn in will actually help lowering the cpu voltage??? how to burn in?? jus run it in orthos for few hours or days, then set lower vcpu n run orthos to try if it stable?? i'm not really sure of r\this run in process..

sifu pls explain, can't find in google.. tq..

will try better OC attempt next week when i got my new CPU cooler coz at the moment still stock cooler only... uguru is very easy to use... but only use it to try oc attempt once at a time... if fail, next reboot will return to previous good setting.. so no need clear cmos.. adjust uguru till limit then only use bios to adjust ram n some minor adjustment... can even use uguru to control all fans... but any1 know how to adjust vNB n vFSB???

i dunno if my case is normal, i run my pc, e6600es for omoz 1 month at 370fsb 1.5125 vcpu, then i finally got the artic freezer 7 pro hsf (all d way from OZ), installed it yesterday n cpu temp drop 5 to 6 degree... (nothing changed except hsf) but weird part is, i'm able to lower my vcpu to 1.4875 n later to 1.4625.. i tried lowering my vcpu b4 but all failed orthos within minutes.. so is it because of cooler cpu or wat?? at the moment cpu temp is down to 37 idle n 56 load.. (previous 43 idle, load 68, vcpu 1.5125) can be lower if i set the fan to spin faster.. i'm in air cond room.. room temp is 28 (not cold)..

any idea??

huh.. i tried to run orthos with 400fsb x 9 (e6600es) @ 1.6875vcore (but uguru shows 1.64) n orthos failed after 20 minutes, previously it can run for hours.. load is 74 DEGREE...! is that means my proc is only getting 1.64vcore?? i really wondering wat happen to my proc.. it require less vcore to run at 370fsb x 9 (from 1.5125 drop to 1.4625) but now it seems like require more to run at 400fsb.. i tried ds3 before but it doesn't seems to go much further too..

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Mar 8 2007, 09:50 PM)
As i've said earlier, don't rely on the vcore shown in the software bundled with your motherboard.

Use CPUz to know the true Vcore that is directed to your processor.
That's the true Vcore.

HaHaNoCluE, sorry to say this, but, i have to, Abit new line of motherboards are known for it's weakness here & there.

The history of the best Abit mobo is only on their old socket 478 motherboard such IS7, IC7

After that, they have been producing nothing but crap mobo, most of them are known for very high vdroop. shakehead.gif

I don't know why you need a very high Vcore more than 1.6Volts to run at 400X9.
I only use 1.5Volts of vcore to run at 400X9. laugh.gif
*Notice that we are using the same e6600 ES that we bought from nakata101 smile.gif

Ehh, before i forgot, did you increase the VMCH & the FSB voltage too? blink.gif
*
my mobo only have vMCH n vICHIO (which i dunno wat it is).. i increase both 0.2v.. no nid say sorry, i'm not hardcore fans of anything, hehehe.. anyway i used to buy a lot of abit mobo last time, then this 1 came out n review quite good so i buy lor (ds3 went rma).. wanted to get biostar at 1st but can't find in sabah.. n this a bit got heat pipe..! hehe.. anyway, thanks for all the help.. any tips, hints or posibilities.. pls juz post up..

anyone tried or having L631A batch of e6600??? i trying 1 but it doesn't do any better than my e6600es... i uses lower vcore but produce same amount of heat (temp in celcius)... currently it's running at 370fsb @ 1.4000 vcore... (e6600es/370fsb/1.4750)... but both idle n load at same temp... is my poc bad???
