Potential Android Auto issue

Experience:
> My phone & HU failed to connect via Android Auto. But Bluetooth was ok - over the last 2 days.
> It says phone not found / unable to connect with phone. Phone was charging fine, but not not communicating with HU
> I tried everything, reinstall AA, change version, reset phone to factory settings, reset car HU - nothing works
> Today, I found a potential solution after trying everything for 2 days

Potential reason it happens:
>I was driving with AA on - when I shutdown the car, the AA was still connected, but when I started the car again later, I did not plug in my phone before the car started - this led to some kind of software error on the HU.

Potential solution
> Reinstall AA on your phone
> Start up your car, and reboot your car's HU - by holding down the power button until it asks if you want to reboot
> When the HU rebooted, plug your phone back in and run AA as per normal

Prevention
> Press menu button to exit AA before shutting down the car
> Plug in phone before starting the car to be safe

I'm still testing this solution. So far it's working. I'll be monitoring this and updating over the coming days.

Yes you can, you need to do transfer of ownership. But in your scenario, I would suggest you to extend the validity period instead. Go to JPJ, find the pengarah or any authority, shows them proof of your car booking and said your car hasn't arrive to the dealer yet. They may ask you to write a rayuan letter or not, up to their mood. After that they will update your validity period for up to 6 months I believe. Give it a try, I heard many succeeded.

Bible thick manual. The least favorite part of owning a new car
*
This is the most important thing to look through after getting your car back to your home. cool2.gif

Quite a lot of things to learn by reading the manual, instead of relying on inputs from the SC or forum members.

Personally, I think the first batch is technically the best batch to buy (for CKD cars at least).

> Top team leads will be selected to work on the car
> Japanese specialist supervising every step of the production
> Tedious QC check processes guided by specialist at every production stage-gate

In terms of assembly, the first batch will be the best. The worst case scenario is that they have probably taken your car apart a couple of times and redone it till its perfect.

Usually the parts that fail is the manufactured bits - i.e. small springs etc. which was certainly not produced for the first time, but this should be within the control limits - maybe 1% small defects - it's bound to happen on any batch.

1st batch should also have the highest % of import content before more and more parts/components are sourced locally.  Heard most of the parts of this CKD Civic currently comes from Tomyam land.

Congrats on your new ride. You must be the first owner in KB. Hope later you can give opinion on handling especially how well this car manage the body roll. Thanks in advance
*
I'm driving real slow. Not more than 70kmh and certainly no hard cornering. Cant comment on body roll yet.

Steering feels well weighted for me. Suspension is pretty firm at low speed but still comfortable. Doubt it will scrape bumps.

One thing I dislike is the petrol cover. The doors has to be unlocked only u can open the cover. An old fashion petrol cover lever/release button is still the way to go.

There's no easter egg on my armrest's rubber base.

My civic is only the 3rd or the road ... at least the other 2 are helping to take some attention off my car haha.

I haven't tried fetching 3pax behind. But honestly the suspension is hard on low speeds so should be OK.

My base of comparison is that this car has higher clearances than a prius and the prius suspension is made of jelly so go fast enough sure scrape. If suspension was stiffer like this car should be fine.

Don't whack bumps at speeds anyway.
