Done only 30kms today. Some observations...
1. The side mirror doesn't fold when the engine is off. Not even on accessories power mode. The engine has to be on. 2. Drive is good. Lots of power. A bit hesitant off the line at traffic light, but maybe it's just me. 3. Suspension - hard on slow speeds. Well sorted on speeds. Car set up is really low. It hits you when you are side by side with a axia and all you see is that fellas door. 4. Speed bumps - it's alright for 2pax. No chance of scrapping. Not even sharp bumps. 5. Audio sounds soso... Loving the integration with Android auto. Turn by turn highlighted on dashboard which was quite cool. 6. A bit of poison for TC-P fence sitters... I saw one waiting to be collected today at the showroom. The led headlamps are just amazing. Had me second guessing my choice when compare side by side. Will post more observations over the coming days This post has been edited by hamrog: Jun 21 2016, 08:41 PM |

QUOTE(Alternation @ Jun 23 2016, 11:54 PM) My initial though from my short 15km ride home from dealership. Congratulations on your new ride!1) ride is slightly on the firm side at low speed. 2) steering is well weighted while giving pretty good feedback at low speed. 3) my car's fitting is fortunately better than the show car. Sturdier and less gap. 4) android auto is fun to have. 5) audio is better than most c segment cars bar the rear passenger side. They should have mounted the speakers on the back doors. |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jun 24 2016, 09:15 AM) Personally, I think the first batch is technically the best batch to buy (for CKD cars at least).> Top team leads will be selected to work on the car > Japanese specialist supervising every step of the production > Tedious QC check processes guided by specialist at every production stage-gate In terms of assembly, the first batch will be the best. The worst case scenario is that they have probably taken your car apart a couple of times and redone it till its perfect. Usually the parts that fail is the manufactured bits - i.e. small springs etc. which was certainly not produced for the first time, but this should be within the control limits - maybe 1% small defects - it's bound to happen on any batch. * before I kena flame, better declare that I am an mfg-ops consultant |

QUOTE(cruxidex @ Jun 24 2016, 09:27 AM) i have a question on the AUTO mode of our headlamps... It'll auto off bro.at night/dark places... when we turn off the engine, the headlamp is still ON, we go out of the car, lock the car, the headlamp is still ON. can it be turned off automatically? my prev forte, bila off engine tinggal low lamp n fog lamp. bila lock the car all is auto off If you are concerned, you can actually change the settings from the HU. > you can set the timer a bit faster to auto off or just cancel the function altogether |

Potential Android Auto issue
Experience: > My phone & HU failed to connect via Android Auto. But Bluetooth was ok - over the last 2 days. > It says phone not found / unable to connect with phone. Phone was charging fine, but not not communicating with HU > I tried everything, reinstall AA, change version, reset phone to factory settings, reset car HU - nothing works > Today, I found a potential solution after trying everything for 2 days Potential reason it happens: >I was driving with AA on - when I shutdown the car, the AA was still connected, but when I started the car again later, I did not plug in my phone before the car started - this led to some kind of software error on the HU. Potential solution > Reinstall AA on your phone > Start up your car, and reboot your car's HU - by holding down the power button until it asks if you want to reboot > When the HU rebooted, plug your phone back in and run AA as per normal Prevention > Press menu button to exit AA before shutting down the car > Plug in phone before starting the car to be safe I'm still testing this solution. So far it's working. I'll be monitoring this and updating over the coming days. |

QUOTE(Jeff_lwh @ Jun 24 2016, 11:30 AM) I haven't tried fetching 3pax behind. But honestly the suspension is hard on low speeds so should be OK.My base of comparison is that this car has higher clearances than a prius and the prius suspension is made of jelly so go fast enough sure scrape. If suspension was stiffer like this car should be fine. Don't whack bumps at speeds anyway. |

QUOTE(BravoZeroTwo @ Jun 24 2016, 01:25 PM) Can I qualify the above findings about first batch being the better cars ? My 2008 Altis and 2012 Civic both first batch and they suffered from engine knocking issues. Altis, after much waiting and emails, head was changed but problem came back three months later. Civic was pushing of responsibilities here and there. I would buy a car that has local branches not dealers that run the show only. Ahhh sorry to hear that. I really hope we don't have to go through the same pains...What I meant by my statement applies to first batch for the assembly process, especially as this car is an all new design, all new engine, as opposed to a facelift (which does not require specialized teams, nor additional training to assemble) and certain car models that carry modular parts - like a engine that was built and used in a previous model |
