audit job really no life, think carefully before you commit.  work till 8 or 9pm on weekdays is quite common for auditors, sometimes weekend also need to OT.

if you really want to go into audit line, make sure you go for those big firms since it is better for your career enhancement.  If anyhow also need to OT then rather OT for big firms which is more worth it.  laugh.gif

room without air cond at $500-$600 should have a lot of options, of course not near Central area

your profile pic appears familiar to me, have u been active in big 4 thread b4? biggrin.gif
i heard from my friend that one of her fd in ey msia reach home 10-11pm, unsure abt the peak though.

8-9pm is acceptable to me as long as they dont go till wee hours, i mean come on how on earth could our brain supposed to be function that long and be productive =.=

but my lecturer keep emphasizing that big 4 sg no longer accept msian fresh grads wor, perhaps try out big firms other than big 4? such as rsm?

which other line would u suggest me to go into then other than audit? i choose audit over tax cuz i studied msian tax and the former will/might learn a lot laugh.gif

lol why is it rare to see female tag here? is it cuz girls only go to sg where they have connections and relatives there? unsure.gif
ya i read abt the salary rise also, but i dont think any fresh grads can get salary that high for their 1st job with nil experience

can i ask how further is further? can reach workplace within 1-1.5hrs by mrt or bus? i know sg is small maybe just like penang?

thx for all the reviews on accom! really appreciate it thumbup.gif

Yeah quite rare here in this forum. Of all female friends i know, none is aware and using this forum. None. Haha

1hour on public transport should be max. But depends on how far you stay away from MRT and how to access your office also. If you need to take feeder bus to MRT transfer to train then get off at MRT need to take another feeder confirm going to take much longer time.

I take bus all the way to work place. Less human more seats more room to breath more private space biggrin.gif

You don't get what I meant don't you?

Talking about salary...

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Actually kinda lucky of me. Almost 2 years back landed my current and my first job in SG and my first job in life at quite an average or slightly below average salary in my field. Had 4 adjustments till date now taking about 40% higher pay compared to 2 years back.

But the work experience isn't entirely pleasing. Luckily the pay made up for some part of that biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Spending also went up exponentially doh.gif

Used to survive on 550 for rental, 450 for misc (food, transport, mobile, groceries, entertainment etc etc). Now is 650 for rental, another 650-800 for misc doh.gif Haven't account for my excluded expenses (those not day-to-day expenses like getting new shirts/gadgets/birthday presents etc etc)

Insaneeeeeeeeeee innocent.gif

Haven't mention savings. Still got quite a bit of savings.

But 2 years savings can't even afford the downpayment for a car in SG, not to mention a property in SG doh.gif

Btw anyone got any lubang on property worth buying in JB? Best if the rental can cover the installment.

good to know that more fellow msians are doing great thumbup.gif just like msia, there are good companies and bad companies in sg. i also got adjustment recently, also my first job in sg, started last year december. went up about 20%. fingers crossed for bonus.

for those who feel like starting a career at sg, don't worry too much if your starting salary is below average. things only matter in the long run (experience in sg contribute to new job, PR application, etc). especially if you're young and adventurous, go for it, it'll be a good experience.

I have to pay on my own la... But company do all the tax filing thing with the payroll system. Just need to file tax refund if any.

I'm not sure if a company can pay tax on behalf/for its employees. hmm.gif

But if can that means the balance from the accumulated 5% pay will be credited back to your account after they pay the tax for you. 5% retention though. No good no good.

But again... You already here in SG or still thinking to accept the offer or not?
*
The clause mentioned that it is his responsibilities to pay his personal income tax, so the 5% withhold is only payable to him at certain stage, e.g. after he cleared his tax or annual assessment. There should be a continuation of that clause.

QUOTE(playstan211 @ Jul 30 2016, 11:27 AM)
nope. but TS has passed the min requirement for EP. why is he getting non-ep
*
It depends on quota of the company that he/she applied.

i'm gonna send them the URL that you provide and ask them for clarification.  rclxms.gif

Yes, please share here what is their response. In addition, if they responded to you, tell them to show u which part of MoM web shows 5% withhold salary instead of last month salary. Lastly, if u are brave enough (Not recommended), ask them if there is any interest of that 5% withhold salary once it is deposited back to u smile.gif

did not really browse the Big 4 thread. i do deal with KPxx SG auditors, they worked till quite late most of the time. 8-9pm is just normal to them.

i have friend previously working in RSM, may intro if you are interested.

sg tax is a lot easier than mys tax, far more straightforward.

a lot of us here also thought that we could come here work few years then go back to mys work/start business. how many had actually achieved that since the conversion rate has become SGD1 to RM3

I was looking at 1 commercial property with 6% guaranteed rental return for first 3 years, profit sharing thereafter.

Survey properly. A GRR property most of time is developer marketing gimmick. If can sell well they won't resort to such tactic. IOI's property?
