actually i realise a lot ppl asking how much for salary for xx year for nn industry but since malaysia and sg is geographically close, similar culture, similar cost  of living (albeit of difference but in terms of food and transport), much of the salary is equal.

if u are earning 4k in myr, expect to earn around 3.8k - 4.2k  removing consideration for the size of company, client exposure, role type

just because, a move whether horizontal or vertical would have positive or negative impact on the salary. so it should be no brainer if u are already earning 4k myr and then someone comes and tell u ur expected is 3k sgd effectively devaluing ur experience and skills (unless the size of company is different but for the sake of argument we assume it's the same)

of course, this is just my 2 cents

tldr: if u already making n myr, expect +-20% in sgd. simple as that
*
But the industry standard between MY and SG can be different. This can be one of the main factor of the salary difference.

blink.gif got example?

i've had it guys making 4k in myr and make between 3.5 to 4.2k sgd
i've had bankers making 3k in myr and make between 3-4k sgd
i've had engineers making 5k in myr and make between 4.5 - 5.5k sgd

and mind u, some made horizontal movement from malaysia to sg

but of course, not everyone get this amount but there are ppl that do

QS, I have a friend insist the standards used are different and that hinders her from trying to get a job here.

I also have friend in Audit getting back almost similar pay because she requested for it. See how you snake your way in interview lo

got scenario like if 7k myr but sg side offer 5k sgd, would u guys accept it?

btw, there's no info at 1st post, if someone can share which bank, mobile service provide and maybe credit card good at sg thn would be useful too?

Hahaha tats y I previously tell u all just come whenever u got the chance, gain experience in Malaysia for one or 2 yrs equals to nothing to SG company. Eventually u still need to lowball urself to lower salary making urself unhappy or compete with SG freshie

Especially in finance / business / banking

Else stay put in Malaysia and reaches really high position beforr jump here, my cousin with big 4 for few yrs in Penang before transfer to SG

Handsome pay
*
mind to maybe getting a better view of handsome pay rate? maybe an interval figure? smile.gif

Senior executive engineer in SG large MNC - offered 8.2k sgd, can go higher. Depend on luck, they need people that time.
Senior executive engineer in Sabah mid size SME - less than half of 8.2k rm if want to compare the figures. Market rate of Sabah.

for work wise, customer is also smb, hence the project also small very small scale, my skill almost getting rusted.
For example, implement an ERP system for a 5-10 users environment, only involve a physical ERP server, probably a brand new firewall for public access to the ERP system and that's it. While for larger scale project, it might involve more complicated network environment, integration with the customer existing infrastructure, etc....

for benefit wise, needless to say, no more big pantry full with chocolate, nice R&R room with darts, gaming system...
probably office in cbd or somewhere near town area, more convenient if you want to hang out with frens after work.

Just talk crap here, I believe i gonna stuck here in smb unless i go back KL smile.gif

Well I did put the caveat of +-20 percentage or so and 7k myr and if u can get 6k I'd say just go but 5k is stretching it of course it wouldn't be wrong if you accept it nor is it wrong if you take it because look, end of the day 1 to 1 is definitely hard but if you put a range that u would be willing to take, the figures will make more sense to you.

Of course if you are being paid 7k with a 3 years work experience then by all means you can always ask for roughly the same figure. Bear in mind, sg's average starting pay is quite close to ours

Me too i moved out from mnc to smb and it was difficult to adjust especially in pace and work style but I couldn't think of going back to kl for any godly reason, rather smb in sg than mnc in kl
