QUOTE(tailtwist @ Aug 8 2016, 06:39 AM) You will also need a letter from JPJ.....competent driving license extract(CDL) record Since you're still holding EP/S-Pass/PEP etc etc...the SG driving license will have an expiry date...but if you're SPR there's no expiry date on the driving license Edit: My wife's SG citizenship has been given in-principle approval!! QUOTE(huaweie5830 @ Aug 8 2016, 07:31 AM) Traveling abroad means travel to sg or other overseas countries ? thanx will register to do it soon the expiry date is 5 years rite not worried about that since can't even tell what's going to happen 3 years after. reason i wanna convert is cause i might get another offer in another country and for some reason in that country the conversion of license only applicable for sgrean license, malaysian license have to do test and travelling abroad to other countries, some country recognize sg license without the need of idp

actually i realise a lot ppl asking how much for salary for xx year for nn industry but since malaysia and sg is geographically close, similar culture, similar cost of living (albeit of difference but in terms of food and transport), much of the salary is equal.
if u are earning 4k in myr, expect to earn around 3.8k - 4.2k removing consideration for the size of company, client exposure, role type
just because, a move whether horizontal or vertical would have positive or negative impact on the salary. so it should be no brainer if u are already earning 4k myr and then someone comes and tell u ur expected is 3k sgd effectively devaluing ur experience and skills (unless the size of company is different but for the sake of argument we assume it's the same)
of course, this is just my 2 cents
tldr: if u already making n myr, expect +-20% in sgd. simple as that

QUOTE(XiuKeong @ Jan 23 2017, 03:01 PM) But the industry standard between MY and SG can be different. This can be one of the main factor of the salary difference. got example? i've had it guys making 4k in myr and make between 3.5 to 4.2k sgd i've had bankers making 3k in myr and make between 3-4k sgd i've had engineers making 5k in myr and make between 4.5 - 5.5k sgd and mind u, some made horizontal movement from malaysia to sg but of course, not everyone get this amount but there are ppl that do

QUOTE(XiuKeong @ Jan 23 2017, 04:27 PM) QS, I have a friend insist the standards used are different and that hinders her from trying to get a job here. I also have friend in Audit getting back almost similar pay because she requested for it. See how you snake your way in interview lo then it would apply to lawyers, docs, nurse etc maybe? since there are always local standards then

QUOTE(OldKidz @ Jan 23 2017, 10:22 PM) Omg, means if currently having 7k myr salary should demand 7k sgd? @_@ got scenario like if 7k myr but sg side offer 5k sgd, would u guys accept it? btw, there's no info at 1st post, if someone can share which bank, mobile service provide and maybe credit card good at sg thn would be useful too? Well I did put the caveat of +-20 percentage or so and 7k myr and if u can get 6k I'd say just go but 5k is stretching it of course it wouldn't be wrong if you accept it nor is it wrong if you take it because look, end of the day 1 to 1 is definitely hard but if you put a range that u would be willing to take, the figures will make more sense to you. Of course if you are being paid 7k with a 3 years work experience then by all means you can always ask for roughly the same figure. Bear in mind, sg's average starting pay is quite close to ours
