QUOTE(madmoz @ Jul 22 2016, 09:10 AM) The real problem is the 15% ABSD. Waiting to be a PR saves me 10% right, which could come up to a nice $90k+ or more? That's a LOT of money. Painful. Can almost buy one small flat in KL and collect monthly rent. BTW $20k enough for renovations meh? Things are cheaper here in SG? Well $20k to get from Ikea should be enough.. You,as a geylang resident why not consider Geylang area? some 2bedder less than $800k freehold

QUOTE(the99percent1 @ Oct 13 2016, 07:43 PM) As long as my salary keep increasing every year, i will be able to meet the 30% debt to income ratio. Funnily enough.. the banks wont add to your current loans to the ratio if you are renting out your investment prop. I find that stupid, but not complaining as im benefactor of such arrangement. Saving for a downpayment is easy with exchange rate of x3 and you save more than 55% of your take home pay. My first prop, i admit i had financing help from my parents by utilising some equity of their fully paid off home. Second prop I bought, was my first msian home loan. Third prop which I bought recently and will be staying at in jb, I took advantage of singapore lower interest rate for overseas props. Just give them 20% dp and gau tim. Qualifying for loan seem so easy. But ya, as long as my salary keep increasing every year, i think i can keep this up. Lol. why not look at SG property, the prices is currently lowest in 7 years.. http://blog.iproperty.com.sg/fall-in-q3-private-home-prices/

QUOTE(the99percent1 @ Oct 14 2016, 12:14 PM) . I not local or pr, so no hdb for me. ( and i dont think it is a smart idea to buy private prop. Plus, i prefer landed. For condo, you are just paying for air in the sky. HDB alot restrictions, doesnt worth the hassle. you cant buy HDB if u have 1 or more propeties in Msia

QUOTE(darrenboy @ Oct 17 2016, 05:52 PM) In order to buy HDB, I cannot own any property in Msia too? What kind of ridiculous rule is this? Lots of situation of this kind - example, Malaysian home is stayed by parents or relatives (bought before working in Sgp), but planning to buy HDB due to working here in Sgp. Tell me why cannot. Are we expected to stay in Malaysia and travel everyday to Sgp - if that is the reason you mentioned. If home is in JB maybe still can ..but if home is in KL or Kedah, then how to stay there and work in Sgp same time. You can actually buy private even if you own HDB ..sorry for not providing sufficient info http://www.hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/residenti...rivate-propertyafter 5year MOP.. i do have friend appeal and allow to keep the house in jb under his name. though his wife is sprean and he only have 1 proprty in JB.

QUOTE(titarium @ Oct 26 2016, 05:17 PM) SG rule , want subsidy : be a SC household income < 12k . if owning a resale HDB too much of a hassle private is always there . Looking at the SGrian and Gov stand point , they wouldn't want the property market on an Island become what like in HK , so they are placing all measures possible. Basically they are saying choices are there , not happy move on . >12k but <14k can buy EC, the yield is on par to BTO flat according to my fren

QUOTE(activexxx @ Feb 1 2017, 05:43 PM) I will be having an interview offered by a IT consultant firm in Singapore. Let's say my current salary in M'sia is RM9k (with 8 years of working experience), should I put my expected salary as SGD9k? Or must put lesser than that? Please advise as I have not worked there before. What position you are being offered? You should put expected as SGD10K based on 10% increment as i guess they really need some imported talent to fill up this role
