Nevermind edi. I'm moving out and stay at larkin after Raya Haji...
Political Governance, Socialism history in Singapore, Economy and whatsoever related...

One of the bro say to me about not talk about that topic. He scare I might end up disappearing without trace...

I'm not well versed with Singaporean history but just happen to stumble upon "Operation Coldstore"
that does explain the "taboo" in discussing about Socialism history. Refer:- Wiki

This are what they are referring to. I do remember the bros and uncles told me about this operation, but I couldn't recall the name back then...

Even in MY also people didn't really fancy with the word Socialism....

yeah, i already scavenged through jobstreet and there are lots of jobs that i feel i can apply. graphic designers, 2d concept artist, draughtsman, etc etc... i'm excited! should i just go on a limb and click "apply now"? i'm still at my parent's house in taiping, need to renew my passport and generally still having a lot to learn about this whole adventure i'm about to jump into. what if they call me for an interview and i can't make it? i could be banned from jobstreet.  sweat.gif
yeah, i heard that the construction industry is slowing so that must be it. i got an email reply last week asking if i'm willing to work for free.  sweat.gif

they are going to put a remark to your profile, people might know that this person is not serious and wasting their resources and time to arrange the interview for u. Make sure that is the job that u want before click apply

hi guys. i'm getting frustrated at getting no favorable response after sending my resumes to so many companies for a post of architect assistant. i've been jobless for almost 7 months now after finishing my degree in january. working in singapore sounds intimidating but the idea seems more and more attractive by the day. i'm gonna read this thread and do my research and hopefully i won't have to become a disappointment to my family any longer soon.

i suppose the labour market is extremely saturated and competitive right now? i'm not picky and willing to work anything but i bet whatever i apply, thousands of people will apply too and it's a scary thought.  sweat.gif

favourable respond icon_idea.gif ?

if u r a Malaysian RA, u will be head hunted. just talk $$$

if a fresh Malaysian A assistant, susah la>>> ask yourself, r u any better a phil graduates ?? console.gif or worst, r u comparable to phil practising CAD/BIM operator???

don't be dishearten if u find u r doh.gif doh.gif than a operator

Normally the kind of topics I find it's quite sensitive and awkward to talk with locals are:

1. National service for males there. PR vs. S'porean vs. foreigners
2. Corruption gossip in corporate and gov services
3. No muslims serving certain defence role. For the fear of espionage since S'pore is surrounded by Muslim countries, scare of attack
4. Treatment of scholars compared to others

1, 2 & 3 ok for my colleagues to discuss eh... Not sure about you all. we did talk about it previously

single life is dry n boring, no matter where u r, even at the home country surrounded by childhood friend, it would be the same also. Looking at friends get married, they have fun raising up a kid, sometimes I jeles also.
Look back at the college life, so much fun n joy.
Not because of u're away from hometown, it is because u're at another stage of life.

Now, i bring my MY bikes and pay the $4 daily VEP and keep it inside SG. Yes, it cost me another $120-ish/mth to keep the bike but its worth it. Atleast i can jalan2 when i'm bored. Less time talking to the walls...
