didnt do it nonstop. max oso 4 laps nonstop. alternate between front crawl and breaststroke. freestyle rhythm and inhale/exhale timing not good enough, max oso 2 laps nonstop. usually front crawl, then breast stroke to regulate breathing. never actually tried really really long distance nonstop.

You should try 1km non-stop. I don't know, but it's exhilarating for me. The farther I go, the less tired I get. So I fail at sprinting. >.<

Use your body rolls to fetch your arms to crawl the water along. This is the way to swim fast but can last very long time...If you over use your arms power, will be exhausted very damn fast. If you're good on timing, you can inhale more than 3 seconds though per breathing for front crawl style, but speed will reduce...

True.. keep rotating your hips/belly, instead of having fast armstrokes....

What did you type earlier? Front crawl <> Freestyle? You mean it's not the same ?

Freestyle and front crawl is actually not the same thing.

'Freestyle' means exactly what it says. You can use any of the strokes for this event. As the front crawl is generally the fastest stroke, it is usually used. So, 'freestyle' is used as a synonym for the front crawl. Just like the Americans use terms like Speedo, Seadoo, Kleenex and Bandaid as synonyms for the actual thing.

I remember during an Asian Age Group competition in India a long time ago, an Indian boy used the butterfly for the 50m freestyle event. he won it. He also used it for the 100m freestyle, but I won it. Hahaha! Actually, I think he might have used the butterfly for the first 50m, then front crawl for the second 50m... Can't remember.
