Where is KJ? I'm staying in Danau Idaman. There's a 25-30m (it's around that) length swimming pool. I swim there everyday. Love to join you guys to improve my swimming style.

KJ = Kajang? I would like to join...smile.gif Please make this confirm ^^

I don't think it's Kajang la. I used to stay in Kajang and there's not a good pool there. Where where? Let's make it so we can exchange views on different kinds of styles and techniques.

I'm staying in Danau Idaman Condo. The pool is about 30m length. Depth is about 5 feet or so.

Sounds good, where to store our stuff while we are swimming?
*
You won't be bringing a lot of things rite? Just maybe a bag to put clothes and swimwear. Once after that, there is a changing room which you could change and have shower.

can wear only short pants ? coz i dun have swimming trunks.. lol..

when i do free style, my legs become tired easily.. maybe i do it wrongly ??
*
Sure can for short pants. Normally doing free styles, your arm tire faster than your legs. The main reason that your legs tire easily is because you kicked too vigorously. Try to do one kicks with each legs for each hand stroke. Don't go and do Thorpe's version of super kicking legs. That's very very tiring, no doubt can go faster. However, with relaxed kicking, you can use your arm's style to compensate such as 'water cupping palms' or high elbow techniques. Try to rotate on your hip. That way, you'll have a very relaxed but fast front crawl.

Where are all my sifu who willing to teach me swimming?  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Life86: How beginner are you? And if you wanna learn swimming, which style you want to learn?

skysherly: I'm not a sifu, but I can offer crash course....lol. I'll recommend the basic breastroke first, or rather, how to breathe first. Later on, if ya wanna learn front crawl, I can teach you guys, and later on, if ya want, I can help on flip turn (sommersault at wall). Don't ask me about butterfly though, I don't know how lo.

yo.. wanna ask whr can i get speedo brand stuff at kl placE?
*
I got mine from Jusco Mid Valley. I think practically all shopping malls have it. I'm wearing Speedo Cap, Ogival googles and Triumps trunks....lol lol....lotsa mixed brands..haha...

Don't buy Ogival swimming trunks, or rather, don't buy blue colour. It'll get discoloured very fast. Go for black or grey.

Skysherly: No sweat it. At long as you learnt how to swim it before, I bet you'll get it back very fast.

yo brother! wave.gif
Well, no rushing, slowly arrange lo tongue.gif
Pool session doesn't mean must swim right? I will confirm die! lolx  sweat.gif
Well, my swim suit is Ogival and cap too and goggle forget  doh.gif
don't thnk I will want to wear swim suit  sweat.gif
*
Nobody is stupide nia. As long as you try your best, anyone can learn swimming. The key is not to be afraid of the waters and to hold your breath the moment your nose submerged into waters.

Yup..slowly arrange. But if can't make it in whole group, can still come one or two fellas. I'm always swimming here. Been wondering how are you guys going to recognise me...Just look for a guy in the pool around 1800-1900 wearing speedo silicone cap and blue googles doing freestyle laps.

Why not wear swim suit? It is easier to swim with swimwear rather than shirts coz shirts would soak up a lot of water. If you must, wear your swimwear underneath and another soft T-shirt on top of it.

Today I'll be there around 1745-1900. Anyone staying near here wanna join?

Sherly, it is for hygienic reasons also, that you are not recommended to wear your everyday clothes and jump inside the pool. biggrin.gif

How long is your pool open ah, alu? My work only finish at 6. Got spotlights or not?
*
Where do you stay smallbug?

If I'm not mistaken, the pool is about 30m long. Got underwater lights. Some rosak some still ok. But you can still make it out.

Try this for a change:

Whenever you kick, go for a short glide. Then when you want to stroke your hands, make an 'L', meaning extend your arms sideways while standing, palms facing your leg. Then bend it 90 degrees infront of you, still with your palms down. Imagine you are floating the water. Doing such will push more water to the back and in the same time thrusting your whole body out of the water for better breathing.

I don't suppose the pool's covered? Kinda rainy these few evenings.  shakehead.gif
*
Yea, it's not covered. So, I've missed 2 days of swimming. I normally will go swim after the rain stops or if it slowed to a light drizzle. Yesterday it was hot in the afternoon, but then suddenly around 1745, it rained. So I waited till 1820 for it to stop and it did. The moment I jumped into the pool, did 6 laps it poured...talk about bad luck..lol.

But I'm going to try again today.

Skysherly: The pool at my condo is very clean. There is a dedicated cleaner who cleans the pool on certain days on weekdays, so no worries.

Clean water should be bluish and clear. If you notice it to be a bit greenish, meaning it has a lot of algae which is not good. Normally this is treated by dosing extra chlorines, but don't know if public pool would even mind. Usually I 'taste' the water before I jump in...lol...not drink ya..just gargle a bit..lol

alucard..is outsider allowed to swim at ur condo? Taman Desa right?
*
Just act natural. Don't like bring a super big bag. A small sling bag won't be noticible. There is a changing room which you can either change or take a bath. Outsiders are not allowed, but as long as you don't come in gang and don't make a huge fuss/noise, no one will bother.

do you swim on weekends or morning during weekdays?

it'll be nice to have swimmates...not so boring..(oh..and i'm straight..just incase u wonder..so no worries..tongue.gif )
*
i swim everyday around 6-7pm. Even if it rains, I'll either wait for it to stop or if it is just very very mild drizzling, I'll go on ahead. you are correct, swimming with a partner is much much better..
