QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jun 29 2016, 05:12 PM) Usually less than 3 months big fat zero. If already more than 3 months, usually half the promised interest rate. Only exception is maybank eGIA-i where regardless when you withdraw. You will still get the full 4% which is calculated daily. QUOTE(cherroy @ Jun 29 2016, 05:13 PM) Generally (can be varied), from what I knew, What I don't understand is, what if the FD with 1-mth tenures, have been there renewed automatically for a year... So should it or should it not be eligible?Deposit less than 3 months, premature withdrawal, you get zero interest, even just a day to mature. Deposit more than 3 month, you get half of the board rate, calculated on daily basis on number of days completed. https://www.pbebank.com/pdf/Banking/pbeFD001eng.aspx Source QUOTE 3.4 In respect of placement of FDs for 1, 2 or 3 months, the following shall apply if the FD is withdrawn prior to maturity:- 3.4.1 No interest will be paid. 3.4.2 Where interest is credited into my/our Current/Savings Account on a monthly basis, such monthly interest credited prior to withdrawal of the FD will be deducted from the principal before the FD withdrawal proceeds are released to me/us. 3.5 In respect of placement of FDs exceeding 3 months, the following shall apply if the FD is withdrawn prior to maturity:- 3.5.1 No interest will be paid on the FD withdrawn before the completion of 3 months. For FDs withdrawn after the completion of 3 months, interest will be calculated and paid at half (1/2) of the original contracted rate for each completed month. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jun 29 2016, 10:46 PM) yeah, better do some back up planning.. Eager to see what the July FD promo will be. This Friday can start to have an idea about it. But not expecting higher than June promo's like 4.25/4.3%, discounting Affin's 4.5%. people are expecting OPR cut.. so they would "lock" what ever best rate available now |

Big boss says to his financial people, "You say this special promo paying monthly interest at 4.3% p.a ending this March is worth catching for 6 months. Just scrape the loose funds around and see whether you can place 5 million. If short a bit, no problem, can top-up. When can we do it?"
"Give us some time to arrange things, and meet any unexpected problems. Probably near end of month, can even at the end at last day as good kawan with bank manager." Big boss says, "OK, I mark Monday 28, Tuesday 29, Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 March 2016 for standby for the the good day?" "All days good, boss" "What no special good luck day like 28?" "Err, only one bad day." "Oh what day is that and how bad can it be?" If you can work this one out and answer, it means you are beginning to glimpse/grasp what could be called the time factor problem - something most people are not aware of when doing time dependent calculations. Have 10k to put in fd now, for now it seems rhb offers the best rate 4.25% for 12 months, is it comes with any special terms? or it is normal fd?
pls do recommend if you have better option, thanks! |

Affin Bank at branches named in various post above is still top at 4.5% for minimum 10k and 12 months, interest on maturity, until end August 2016 unless quota met earlier.pls do recommend if you have better option, thanks! |
