QUOTE(dannyw @ Jun 1 2016, 06:00 PM) Recent News: Panasonic says it is going to stop making screens for its televisions in Japan by the end of September.
It has never been a profitable venture since production started in 2010 due to heavy price competition from South Korean and Chinese rivals.Next time only Korean/Chinese and ultimately maybe only Chinese...

Hmm. I want to know what's SAMSUNG TV problem or at least it's major/frequent problem. The survey above shows top problematic tv brand award goes to Samsung but yet those who voted Samsung as their problematic plasma, lcd or led tv can't be bothered to give any further details about the problem except probably one dude here. How ironic is this? This post has been edited by jovigrunge: Jun 2 2016, 06:11 PM

Why the survey on top shows top problematic tv brand award goes to Samsung. So few votes and you already decide? your sampling data are not big to make solid confirmation. When survey is by thousands.

It's them that voted and yet out of 15 only 1 dude gave the details of the problem. Any idea why? Tv or human problematic? This post has been edited by jovigrunge: Jun 2 2016, 06:18 PM

This thread shouldn't die off. It would be interesting to see Samsung top the chart for such a long period.

Surprising to see Toshiba and Philips maintaing..or it means general public is not buying Toshiba/Philips Samsung being the top is 'expected'...well, at least for me Sony unexpected to be that problematic I know Sony QC quite good... Second scenario, they really didn't have a problem and no need to vote.

Could have been 10k samsung TV only 19 units problem, while 1k units of Toshiba sold and 2 units problems (according to the vote result here as of 15th Jun 2016) There is also no Reliable brand for voting, My Mom using Samsung LCD since 2005, only recently (2016) is damage. How should I rate? Is reliable to me, but output quality are so so only.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

It's just a poll, very random and subjective. Of course take it with a pinch of salt. It can't be 100% analyzed breakdown according to make/model/years/run hours... 5 years ago before i buy a new plasma TV, i went to electronic shop (not selling shop, but repairing shop) and ask them which brand they receive most to repair. So i suggest other people can use that method also.
The answer i got from that technician is they repair a lots of philips and samsung tv. However, this doesn't mean data was accurate that much because from my observation at their shop, they repair a lots of crt tv. Only a few LCD or flat tv panel at that time. Based on that, it just gave me some idea regarding brand.
