P1i has 3.2MP camera and a more generous memory.

P990i has a full QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA and a larger screen.

It's quite difficult to determine which has more functions.

So I guess it's two different series after all, like the M600i and P990i.

wah!...first time out...sure price would be sky high one...

try to check at SE Service Centre at Second Floor of Avenue K(in-front of KLCC)...
if in PJ...check Amcorp Mall...but don't know which floor...

why SE making it as P1...wonder why not P-series with three digits?

Bro, P1i is from the P-series, just like P990i. You can read the article on Lowyat.net's front page.


And bro, P990i doesn't support HSDPA also. Check here.
As for the keyboard, it is still a full qwerty, but in another form.

i still think that the P1i should be marketed as M700i or some other models which are under the "M" series.....

P1i doesn't resemble a "P" series at all....P series should have a big arse casing(like the P800 until the P990i) and should be the flagship model.

The P1i not only looks small, it's specs is only about or slightly higher than the P990i, therefore they should be marketing it as a "M" series phone....

And i agree with blinky, the P990i replacement shouldn't be this early....

Just what i think....funny SE marketers...heheh...

hmmm...thats why...wondering why SE introducing the P1i so early...
they should at least lining it up under M-series...to differentiates between one another...
with this kind of design...surely first impression would thought its a successor of M600i...

it was rumoured to be the successor of M600i.....mana tau they released as P series...heheh....

Because it is more powerful than even p990i, although not by leaps and bounds.

New p990i user reporting in. Just got my p990i 2 hours back. Grab it at rm1175. Kinda like how it feel and doesnt look too bulky to me. The qwerty keyboard is good to use, and I mean it even I got big fingers

Well its still unknown when P1 will be available and I guess it wont be a good choice also getting it straight after launch, due to price and firmware stability. I think in order to convince myself to get the P1, maybe a year later after its launch. Also I dont see much improvement over the p990. The higher mp camera dont look attractive to me since I already had a better multimedia device which is the n95

Added on May 10, 2007, 11:07 pmWell the sound output from the speaker is bit too soft even I had adjust to the max volume. Still need sometime to get use to it since its my 1st se phone and p series. Overall it give me quite a comfortable experience
