Hehe guys, what applications do you have in your phone?
I have: Swiss Manager Pro Windows Live Messenger Agile Messenger McAfee Antivirus McAfee Firewall DivX Player Screen Capture SMS Diary Handy Day Handy Safe Connect Me! Worldmate Pro Edition Opera Mini MS Dictionary Live TV Mobipocket Reader LocationFree Player Games: Oh no More Lemmings Sky Force Reloaded Eggstreme 3 Hehe all full versions and I've still alot of softwares yet to be installed. If you guys wanna know where to get these, PM me =) My advice to those who experience slow running of the processor: Swiss Manager --> Settings --> Cleanup when closing flip. It will end all your applications and free your memory each time you close your P990i's flip. Happy trying! |

Yes you can through SEUS, but I'd rather not take the risk, I'd just pay RM50 to SE service centres to get it done for me =)But seeing that you're only getting your unit now, I guess the firmwares are pretty much alright already. |

Yes, you can update easily through SEUS. I have tried updating mine and so far no problem. Was struggling between wm5 device and p990i but since p990i is hell lot cheaper, I guess I grab it. If you are new to both OS, better get try of the WM5 first, cause it is more easy to operate and at least, more application and games to choose. But most of the WM phone lag of the 3G function, if you want an all in one phone, get the P990i, with the latest firmware, you wont regret. About the wlan function, i think that the reception is kinda weak compare to my previous WM phone (O2 atom and Eten M500 (with SDIO) . If the signal status there appear only one bar, means that if you successful connect to the network, you still cannot use it to browse the net. For an example, in my school there, the building got 5 floor, when i am in the 2nd floor (inside the classroom), the signal is extremely strong, full 3 bars, and i can browse all the website i want. When i go up to 3rd floor, in the same position as 2nd floor, the signal became 1 bar only, sometimes even cannot connect to it. I wonder if it is cause by the 802.11b (but not g) . |

I had bad experience with old ppc device before therefore I usually will go for other alternative. I do find that symbian aint that bad compare to wm and most important, its much more affordable. Previously was using palm before changing to symbian.About the wlan function, i think that the reception is kinda weak compare to my previous WM phone (O2 atom and Eten M500 (with SDIO) . I beg to differ, I find UIQ much easier to use than WM.About the wlan function, i think that the reception is kinda weak compare to my previous WM phone (O2 atom and Eten M500 (with SDIO) . QUOTE(blinky @ May 8 2007, 05:12 PM) Well, after years of using SE, I'm turning back to Nokia. I once had the same thinking as you. QUOTE(blinky @ May 8 2007, 05:38 PM) This I agree. But WM has more 3rd party apps support and that made me switch to WM and left the UIQ 3.0 scene. |

QUOTE(sonyclie77 @ May 8 2007, 06:54 PM) Any reason why you chose Nokia now? I think Sony's software is much more pleasing on the eyes and more functional. But in terms of stability, i definitely think Nokia's software is much more refined. |

Don't get other version if you want the most stable and up to date firmware. |
