hi, i have a bit of problems with my M600i...dunno if any of u guys experience this or not..

i just changed to Maxis 3G(previously on digi)....the reception when 3G is attached is very poor....2 bars at most....but when a call is comming in or when i am dialing out, 3G will be detached and GPRS will be attached, and the reception is full....

The problem is, when i am receiving a call, the call will not be clear for a while(when it's still attached to 3G), then it will become clear (when 3G detached and GPRS attached)...

what's the problem??

but change to another "Transformer Wallpaper" that got only "Optimus Primer"...

has the same problem wif you too. i'm not sure whether it's the network problem onot as my reception here is kinda bad sometimes. mine always switch from 3G to GPRS all the time. might be the 3G reception poor so they switch to GPRS.

anyone has any solution for my problem?

How do I disable GPRS or 3G when it's not in use ?

This is not a phone problem. So no need worry.

This problem affect each n every handphone with EDGE and 3G. The reason is due to the switching between 3G/EDGE and GSM mode. The time when you usually encounter this problem is when you make calls while driving. Lets said like you drive from Kepong to Selayang. While in kepong, its covered by 3G just fine. But once you drive out of the 3G network range, the normal GSM mode is available and thus switching back to GSM actually terminate the current 3G connection b4 reconnecting to GSM network. Quite troublesome for those who live on the edge of 3G area.

To fix this, Goto Control Panel>Connection>Mobile Network.
Select More>3G GSM.
Then instead of the default 3G and GSM, select GSM only. Vioal, there's go your solution. But by doing so, disable the 3G, which is troublesome if you do use it to surf the internet from time to time. Otherwise there's nothing to worry about.

Hi there ! Just got my brand new P990i Thorus Warranty just now. It have been quite sometimes already for me since i sold my P910i last 2 years ago. Now having a lot of problem to getting to used with my P990i. By the way, I need you all Sensei to teach me???

Firstly..what is the newest software for P990i ?
Secondly ..... Mine is Chinese version but don't read chinese at all. Any idea to delete. Got difficult to sms when the flip is closed always type numbers not words..any idea to change this??
Thirdy, in the 64MB card given is there anything important for the phone. If not, I just change to 1GB ??

so far so good..play it so much it always auto reset...same like me old p900..

i bought ap set with R9E..can't wait to update to R9F as I'm not use to the softer ringtone compared to my old w810i..

i seriously recommend Tweak Peak and Swiss Manager to all UIQ3 users...

any of you have any good recommendation for a web surfing application? my built-in web (it should be opera right?) always closes by itself under heaving loading (eg. surfing at multiply) and I can't seem to login to lowyat.net...

There's no way to remove your Chinese writing capabilities unless you reflash it to Generic World firmware.

Received 2 sms "Liverpool Rocks", "Liverpool Power" last midnight.

When I get up my P990i light was blinking fast, checked and found out memory left 0.4mb because of the sms. It was 14.8mb last night. I am using Singapore set here with Tweak Peak Installed, no Swiss Manager.

My Firmware is R9EA001 and according to here http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/CDA/P990i the last update was back at 15/02/2007.

This is the only major problem I found out after 1 week+ of usage, another minor problem was the Opera browser tend to quit when loading heavy sites. I use RSS Feeds most of the time so browser problem don't bother me much.
