just got my p990 yesterday...miss my remote control function from me old w810!

so far so good..play it so much it always auto reset...same like me old p900..

i bought ap set with R9E..can't wait to update to R9F as I'm not use to the softer ringtone compared to my old w810i..

i seriously recommend Tweak Peak and Swiss Manager to all UIQ3 users...

any of you have any good recommendation for a web surfing application? my built-in web (it should be opera right?) always closes by itself under heaving loading (eg. surfing at multiply) and I can't seem to login to lowyat.net...

yup..tweak peak helps take away the animation which smoothens up the movement...

swiss manager helps free up the ram

honestly speaking..is that an ori or ap set?

i bought my ap brand new for 1475 only..

my friend's shop if you want i can help you get...

warranty by Pacific in lowyat and it has a collection centre in digital mall..

it uses the Chinese-English software (Hong Kong R9E) and the latest is R9F so its not too bad...

switched to p990i edi loo..havent remove the picture from my siggy only..cuz no picture for p990i yet..hehehe

wah 1.2k to 1.3k...so cheap...darn it i bought it at 14XX and now i start to find it expensive...

andy dont think too much about it since you've already made payment...

i'm looking for its leather holster...the p900 holster only can fit the p990 if i remove the keypad which i don't want too...

the leather holster i'm looking for must not have any belt clip behind..i just want to put my phone in and put it into my pocket...

i went to novacell earlier today they have it but its those flip cover type..where u insert the p990i into the holster and a cover flips over ur phone...i dont like that..

i want a totally flat back wor..

Ya i heard the world generic is better..btw, mine is the hk firmware..makan lot of ram..on fresh startup i'll have around 10+ mb open this and that left like 5-7mb..

yup its the ram problem..go to opera and download the opera mini web application..its better...

First match your CDA on the left box then you'll know what provider your in... like mine is 162008/68 so my set is from Hong Kong and its generic trade. the latest firmware is R9F i'm using R9E so still quite ok

i have a feeling u didn't get tweak peaks....

my set is pretty ok...

just updated my Hong Kong Trade Firmware R9E to R9F..

first thing i saw after the update is now when you turn on the phone, there is a loading bar right at the bottom of the SE logo..

i notice also it is no longer so laggy navigating through the menu..

sound has definitely increase in volume but sometimes its crackling..

moreover, under entertainment there is a new application for me which is demo (previously I didn't have demo)...under tools I have items like blackberry installed as standard...

so far there is no big issues of hanging in Symbian UIQ compared to the usual Symbian OS..

however, SE wrote the OS in such a way that during low memory situation the phone will make a soft reset whether you like it or not, meaning even if an incoming phone call that affects the memory usage the phone will restart...
