QUOTE(latte36 @ May 24 2016, 08:25 AM) Personal opinion on mate 8 vs note 5 Oh yeah, I thought the screen sensitive issue is only me, so it does happens Camera is lousier. Especially moving objects. Also takes longer to focus. Screen less sensitive. At times its frustrating but its still ok. Boleh tahan Battery. Fuuuu. This is the only reason why i am still using this m8. Its simply awesome. |

I think the screen is a bit slippery instead of less sensitive.

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ May 24 2016, 09:01 AM) u are not alone. samsung's touch screen is more sensitive. QUOTE(latte36 @ May 24 2016, 11:44 AM) u are not alone. samsung's touch screen is more sensitive. I had Samsung Galaxy S5, yes the screen just over sensitive and sometime create unwanted touch.i find myself needing to press certain links twice or more to get it thru the phone. did not happen with samsung. dont think its defact. its just both brands use diff touch screen module, and i'd say, samsung had the better one. not so much on slippery for me. no issues. matter of getting used to it only. Aside: Anyone have funny screen reaction like home screen go havoc after returning from Ultra Power Saving Mode? I am not too confirm the Ultra Saving Mode is the root cause but it happen only after i turn ON/OFF Ultra Power Saving Mode for the first time ever. |

If you don't mind a bigger phone why not?
Yesterday's food. ![]() For me the screen is very sensitive especially on the side. Maybe because i'm using tempered glass protector. So when holding the side need to be careful. Else it will register as a touch and any other touch you're making won't respond. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 24 2016, 09:19 AM) What do you mean by " screen less sensitive " , that even makes you frustrated ?? - another hardware defect ? If u tap lightly on the screen (as light as u can) especially on the tip of your finger, u will notice sometimes the screen will not register. Means it need slightly higher pressure or larger surface area for the screen to register your touch. Not sure if it's only specific to my unit. For other phones like Samsung the screen will register even with the slightest contact. Not really a big issue, but I can be OCD sometimes. |

QUOTE(Bujal.x @ May 23 2016, 06:06 AM) can someone share the pics taken by mate 8.the camera is my priority before i purchased a smartphone.last time when mate 8 1st introduced the camera reviews is mixed but most of it complaints the blur and grainy results.according to huawei it was a firmware issue and will be tackled on the next update.so its been a while any improvement? Before ordering my Mate 8 I was also very worried about the quality of the camera. Before I had an LG G2 that takes nice pictures considering it's a 3 years old device. I also have 2 reflex digital cameras and a nice Sony RX100 so I know when a picture is technically good . I must say that I'm almost fully satisfied with the quality of the pictures of the Mate 8 (NTX-L29 C636 b170), the only complains are: a) not easy to focus close objects when taking a macro; b) the HDR mode that in most of the cases generates a result identical to the standard mode; b) the noise clearly visible even at 50 ISO in the area of homogeneous color, mainly in the blue sky. However I must say that the last issue can be easily fixed by processing the file with a noise reduction software (such as Noiseless or Topaz DeNoise for OS X) without compromising the fine details of the image.I'm sure that the b and c issues could be mostly fixed by Huawei by modifying the current settings of the jpeg engine, I'm not sure they will ever do it. If you want to judge by yourselves, here are two albums with UNEDITED pictures taken most in fully automatic mode with the Mate 8: https://flic.kr/s/aHskyvuYxs https://flic.kr/s/aHskAxR51t |
