Before ordering my Mate 8 I was also very worried about the quality of the camera. Before I had an LG G2 that takes nice pictures considering it's a 3 years old device. I also have 2 reflex digital cameras and a nice Sony RX100 so I know when a picture is technically good . I must say that I'm almost fully satisfied with the quality of the pictures of the Mate 8 (NTX-L29 C636 b170), the only complains are: a) not easy to focus close objects when taking a macro; b) the HDR mode that in most of the cases generates a result identical to the standard mode; b) the noise clearly visible even at 50 ISO in the area of homogeneous color, mainly in the blue sky. However I must say that the last issue can be easily fixed by processing the file with a noise reduction software (such as Noiseless or Topaz DeNoise for OS X) without compromising the fine details of the image.
I'm sure that the b and c  issues could be mostly fixed by Huawei by modifying the current settings of the jpeg engine, I'm not sure they will ever do it.

No phones are perfect, you buy a particular model becoz there is something on that model that you liked the most, like great image quality, beautiful build quality, ease of use, support. Finding a balance of all the criteria is hard, and if you do found one, everything inside the criteria is going to be mediocre.

I strongly believe I will back to Huawei soon. My previous phone is mate7.
I predict mate 9 will come with Leica technology and huawei stylus like mate book. S pen will no longer monopoly the stylus market.

u are not alone. samsung's touch screen is more sensitive.
i find myself needing to press certain links twice or more to get it thru the phone. did not happen with samsung. dont think its defact. its just both brands use diff touch screen module, and i'd say, samsung had the better one.
not so much on slippery for me.
no issues. matter of getting used to it only.

I believe only the battery life and the cpu better than note 5 but not others

I just got my phone delivered to me this afternoon. Bought it from gemfive last Sunday and the box is sealed.

After using for several hours today, I am overall very satisfied with the phone. Sensitivity is one thing that need to get used to as I noticed the phone will not register the touch if it is still scrolling (even a tiny little bit)

Being my first Huawei phone, there are stuff that need to get used to as well.

Want to ask the sifus here, usually will you all charge the phone using the original charger (meaning using quick charge) or use the traditional smartphone charger (5V/1-2A)? I got a Xiaomi powerbank or two lying around and it is kind of a waste if using original charger is better for the sake of battery lifespan.

Yesterday i saw the Huawei Phone parts price list in huawei service centre when i collect my phone.

share here so can give you some idea if your phone need to repair. i find the price is more reasonable compare to other brand like Samsung and Apple.

BTW, i send my Mate 8 for RMA before the phone got one bright spot on the screen. they one to one swap for me and can get it within 3 hours. i satisfy with the service. 

Can get the charger from service center only or also available at the collection point?
