Can the RM8 annual fee for debit card be waived? If yes, how? Will I get to keep using the online naming facilities and ATM?

I have never once used my debit card. So I just rather cancel that functionality and what for pay annual fee.

Only if you cancel the card. You need to check if it's possible laugh.gif

However if you use online account I don't think you have a choice, need to keep card.

No waiver annual fee on debit as it charges being passed to you of owning it

Perhaps you should request just basic current account with e banking

Alternatively if you have something like a BigPay card, you can top up the BigPay card using your OCBC debit card and then withdraw the amount back to your bank account. Withdrawing from BigPay back to your bank account costs RM0.50 but it's worth it considering the interest amount you get.

OCBC counts topping up your BigPay account as "spending" and you'll get the third bonus so depending on the amount of money you have in your account the RM8 annual card fee pays itself back in a month or less.

I do it once a month and it's pretty quick since you can do it on your phone in like 5 mins. 0.7% extra is like an extra ~RM60 or so per month if u have 100k in your account.

Hi guys, recently found out this saving acct is quite interesting, plan to open a jointly-held acct with my wife

Anyone can let me know
1. If secondary account holder to apply the CC but not the primary holder?
2. Can OCBC pay other bank's CC and counted as one of the eligible "bill" ?
3. Can I opt to not have the atm (debit) card ?

1) Secondary account holder cannot use their CC to get Spend bonus, as per OCBC 360 info page: https://www.ocbc.com.my/personal-banking/accounts/360/#divd3

You and your wife jointly open a 360 Account
You are the primary accountholder
You and your wife are Principal credit cardholders

✅Only Credit card spend by you (primary accountholder) and your son (supplement CC from your CC) will be recognised
❌Credit card spend by your wife (secondary accountholder) will not be recognised

however OCBC Malaysia have not been accepting any new credit card applications from last year's MCO (see #3)

2) Yes, through Transfer Funds > Other Bank's Account > Credit Card Payment. Qualify for "Bill" bonus.

3) OCBC based in Malaysia actually not accepting new-to-bank credit card applications for now, last I checked (December 2020), so if you want the Spend bonus you need to get Debit+ATM card. They might have changed policies recently but I would note that I've received zero advertising material for credit cards, so they're most likely still not accepting new application. You may enquire their branch/hotline to check.

Yes because they will double verify without tac which is tac is flawed system and not that secured

Go try Maybank and you will know why is useless in security

All banks in Malaysia should secured token which is the best but too bad all banks are bloody stingy in Malaysia rclxms.gif

Have you activated one token?

Hidden code is one of it as well coupled with one token

The only OCBC app sucks it is biometric password which are highly unstable

Yes, One Token is to get ur OTP or challenge code right?

The hidden code is the useless feature to me.. tap n view, what is the security measure here?

I feel all bank the secure token that replace OTP is the same.. n I don think replacement of OTP is a good security measure.. bank just want to save SMS cost, that’s y use the so called security token..

sometime I feel OTP is safer if u have different mobile number that tied with the bank.. as in different device to receive the OTP..
