What version of Mapking are you using now? AFAIK for Mapking, no need for you to use GPS Gate but have you try running Mapking without running GPS Gate?

hi all,
i also facing the hanging problem sine day 1 i bought it. already sent in twice for service and get a new board. But too bad the hanging problem still there but good news is getting less compare to before service.

i also try not to install any applicatons, but too bad it still will hang itself. so my conclusion is either on the OS or the hardware. as u all know MS product very famous on it hang ability tongue.gif

Next i plan to secure the battery as mention here. and if it not working i was planning to use the unofficial wm6.1. But from internet i notice there is 2 edition of wm6.1.
1.P535 WM6.1 Clean Rom PDAVIET Edition
2.P535 WM6.1 Clean Rom PDAMobiz Edition
anyone know what the diff between this 2 version?

Those was a customize ROM which had been launched by 3rd party ROM cooker. AFAIK when they mentioned it as clean ROM means there is no additional software been add up in that ROM. Different sometime in the OS version only. But try it at your own risk...

That was Asus style... My P525 also did not have WM6 for WWE but for Taiwan and Russia they produced official WM6 ROM. But now I'm using WM6.1 on my P525.

For other customized ROM, I suggest you to checkout at XDA Developer. But for myself PDA_Mobiz produce a good ROM for my P525. Been using that since WM6.

I think if conversation type SMS, that was WM6.1 default. There is nothing you can do about it. About CE Star perhaps you can ask bro Baronic about this. thumbup.gif

CE start shud be able to use, but dun ask me i banana. hahahaha.

u CAN change sms back to normal format. its a registry tweak. i use a special configurator that automatically does this for me though so i've no idea where this registry is lol

Added on September 6, 2008, 4:32 pmFOund it. Google and download a free registry editor for windows mobile

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\

Under the registry key, create a new DWORD value with value name as SMSInboxThreadingDisabled and set it value data to 1.

lol, at first i didnt like it, but once i began to have a lot of people messaging me, it became very useful to see what i last said or chat with that person about.

of cuz if u have only one person u talk to (ie your gf) and u wanna view the few particularly sweet messages she sent u, then i guess normal is better

Hello friends

I am happy to see that u ppl are helping out each other on p535. I am from india and was the 1st ones to buy this phone, infact the first as i got it from asus office. I have a slight problem. infact a big one.

1>Few months back my pda started behaving unusually. It would reset its date on its own to some jan-2006. Since mine was in warranty i showed it to asustek and they changed the motherboard
2>after that the problem of reset date went but now i have a peculiar problem. If i put the phone on HOLD mode (notr required but mostly) sometimes it just shuts of on its own and i have to press the power buttonn to start it. This i also observe mostly when i keep my phone in my leather belt case.
3>apart from that when i receive a incoming calls SOMETIMES when i pick the phone from my table in mid air the screen goes blank and if i press the green button it reappears. however the call does not get disconnected

What could be the problem. I am not a heavy or rough user of this phone. Also i brealy use gps nowadays and i have not installed any new application after motherboard installation and stock softwaares

Can somebody help. The asus guys have no clue and i do not want to pay unecessary charges

Added on October 1, 2008, 8:44 pmto add i have wm5 and not upgraded

could it be your leather case too tight? is your leather those magnetic type? mine don't have this kind of problem.

3>apart from that when i receive a incoming calls SOMETIMES when i pick the phone from my table in mid air the screen goes blank and if i press the green button it reappears. however the call does not get disconnected

never have this problem as well. i think you may try to flash your firmware to 3rd party to try out if the problem still persist..if not..i think u should ask for 1 to 1 exchange..

Hello dokidoki

thank you. yes my case is of magnetic type. i guess i too pinpointed on the same issue as u suggested. to exactly describe the happening
"suppose if u slide out your battery cover in your powered on phone then it shutsdown. on slideback the battery cover you have to again press the power on button. the same happens when i take out my phone from the case cover."

i do not think they will now entertain 1 to 1 exchange as my warranty finished this may.

what about rom. should updating that help. which firmware do u suggest and from where can i download

thank you once agin. waiting for ur reply

I have never seen any housing for Asus PDA so far. Have you try to contact Asus Technical Support about this?
