QUOTE(twigky @ Oct 4 2018, 01:33 PM) how you guys check plan from self care? Well, for plan I check on the TIME SELF app on smartphone. Then, TIME already fix it that instead of plan, they go with Home Broadband. I can't see what plan I use, but it tested 500mb both DL and UL. I can't redeem the router, it just keep said is not available, and TnC apply? |

Good morning. Update from Damansara Perdana, 180-0 sqft, Asus1200G+.
300Mbps upgraded to 1Gbps plan - got 970Mbps down only on Wired connection to newer office laptop. On wifi maximum was 380Mbps on 3 devices: 1) New office laptop 2) Huawei P20 Pro 3) 3 year old Acer laptop Seems like there's some sort of interference happening where I can't go beyond 370-380Mbps on wifi. That's okay though, at least I know a newer wired device can get close to 1Gbps. Now it's time to save up for a Lyra or Deco. Currently using a TPlinkRE305 ACwifi Extender, so at least bedrooms get a better connection, but I want to spread it out so that everyone gets a consistent speed, especially for my Mijia devices. |

QUOTE(Zoho @ Oct 5 2018, 10:24 AM) Erm. Dun really need it. Lol. Most of my connections are wired except my kid's PC. Between 3xxMbps to 500Mbps really no difference. I will probably get the cheap T4UH , if can achieve 3xxMbps already gooding, no need spend so much upgrade router for minimal improvement. T4UH --> Yes, I upgraded recently from this stick.I wonder how much if buy from shop instead of online.....wanna play over the weekend... Shop definitely would be more expensive by RM40-RM50 as they want to earn more. I compare the price before for routers. For the sticks, just RM10-RM20 difference only. Thanks. |

Still waiting on the speed upgrade so I can test my router + AP. I'm using my old Asus router and connecting it to a UBNT Unifi AC AP LR which has 2x2 MIMO on the 5GHz band. Will see if it can achieve a good speed and only decide if i should upgrade my PC to a TPLINK T9E. want to pull a LAN cable but not that feasible for me..

QUOTE(stasio @ Oct 5 2018, 01:20 AM) Actually browser speed test like speedtest.net is not very reliable, the margin of error is around 5% to 10%.In network survey, network engineers use iPerf or other socket level tools to test the network bandwidth. |
