Anyone here with experience with Digi's EPP?

I'm an existing DG50 customer, I intend on switching up to a More Data 68 plan and taking a S7E on EPP. Do I still need to pay the upfront fees? If yes, how are they returned to me, is it via monthly rebates?

Upfront fee will be return to you by monthly, depend on how many months of EPP (12 or 24 months)

Thank you. So in my case if I opt for 24-months EPP I should expect this:
+ RM500 when collecting the device
+ Monthly bill of RM68 (plan) + RM108 (EPP - Rebate/24)

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Based on my understanding, there have two types of EPP

EPP 1:
- No money need to be paid
- One lum sum will be swipe from your credit card (Device + monthly + upfront fee), and you pay to bank by monthly (12/24 months)

EPP 2:
- Paid amount of device
- Digi bill will send you by monthly

I think your above option should be referring to EPP2 right ?

Yup, you need to pay the money for device + upfront fee together, example: RM500 + RM108 = RM608

Then, the upfront fee will be deduct monthly from your Digi bill, example: RM68 - RM9 (12 months) / RM4.50 (24 months)

Based on their coverage map, it is there. But looks limited coverage, may be at city center area.

LTE has a theoretical speed of 150 mbps download speed if telco been allocated 20mhz spectrum for a band.
Currently MCMC only allocate 10mhz to every telco (exclude altel), hence I can confirm that my statement is not misleading, which is 75mbps MAX for LTE/4G phone, no matter the phone is cat 3 or cat 4.

For LTE-A/4G+, phone with cat 56789 beyond, I have no argument as I also blur on this  biggrin.gif
What i can confirm is, AT MALAYSIA, as long as the user can reach beyond 100mbps with BIG 3 TELCO(at least DiGi), they are enjoying telco LTE-A/4G+/fully utilize their phone. For sure >10mhz spectrum have been used to reach 100mbps beyond.

You may try more complicated telco, like altel (pure 20mhz?), maxis (30mhz with redtone), YES 4G (50mhz combination) to see whether they have CA or no.
My LTE Cat 4 device can reach max 75mbps due to DiGi using 10mhz (only) for its 2600mhz OR 1800mhz LTE. (Picture 1 that show a list of DL result)
Please check MCMC for spectrum allocation.

LTE-A/4G+ only triggered once supported device support telco OR telco support supported device. You can google "3CA" OR intra/inter-band Carrier aggregation. FYI, DiGi only having interband CA. That is why many device dun have 4G+ as they support intra-band CA.

Your LTE Cat 4 device can reach 50mbps? Or u mean 150mbps? So what? It is normal. Check your telco spectrum allocation first.
You may try U mobile to reach 100mbps at klang valley first before u post the comment.

Maybe you just want to correct me that 100mbps might not using LTE-A(which you are right on this), but our country needs to use LTE-A technology which is carrier-aggregation to have LTE-only max speed which is 75mbps~150mbps due to spectrum allocation. smile.gif

I tried search UK LTE-A, they using 20mhz of 1800mhz and 20mhz of 2600mhz to reach 300mbps
What you have linked to me is logical as you can use UK telco (perhaps all) to archieve 150mbps with your LTE CAT 4 device.

Oh yes I forget about the allocation bandwidth for each telcos.. You're right tongue.gif biggrin.gif

I hate how news are still reporting Digi as the third largest telco when they have the most subscribers.

Just buy a new sim n try it, as u have to test the speed even though u got line.

Digi should be pretty good in Penang. If your device supports LTE-A then that would be ideal.
