3.44GHz with 50s 1m Super PI is a bit low. hmm....maybe try to reduce unused services and terminate background programs. What divider you using now? if 1:1 it should be quite fast in superpi. can show us your cpuz screenshots?

am using S478 mobo with a 2.4Celeron, planning to upgrade to P4 3.0E HT... heard the CPU temp is gonna be really hot. currently using Cooler Master Dream X3 on this celerom @ 52~62'C... if switch to P4 3.0 HT, need a better cooler? or use arctic silve 5?

i think air flow in your casing is also 1 of the main factor that makes the temp increase. I faced before, in the end i just open my side panel, the temp goes down >5'C.

maybe get a better cooling is good solution to cool down presHott. Shawty's p4 3.0E last time manage to run at 4GHz with temp lower than 60'C. if you are not going for OC then i think it shouldnt be a big prob for the temp. smile.gif

i cut a HUGE hole on my side panel, installed alu net instead of acrylic, so that got air flow in but not much dust, but still the cpu is above 50...

then are your casing very pack? the cable are well organized? if the cable hanging around like spider web in front the HFS, then there is no way the hot air go out. if everything seems fine, maybe reapply thermal paste like AS5 may help bring down temp a bit. Ever think of screw a fan on the alu net to draw cool air above CPU? brows.gif Well, just my 2cents. icon_rolleyes.gif

Check your mounting.. If mounting not good, it will affect the contact between the cooler and your processor IHS. Thus, increase the temp.

If you really change to 3.0E, a third party cooler is HIGHLY recommended. It is one of those 'very hot' processor. Or you can try to look for those 3.0C. Much cooler.

bro... i so susah put alu netting and all, just to prevent dust going into the casing... if put a intake fan... i might as well take down the whole side panel and put a stand fan towards the CPU tongue.gif

tried that before, works, but every once in a while have to clean up all those dead cockroach and stuff from the case...

using CoolerMaster Dream X3 now... not a high performance one... just low speed low noise only...
