am using S478 mobo with a 2.4Celeron, planning to upgrade to P4 3.0E HT... heard the CPU temp is gonna be really hot. currently using Cooler Master Dream X3 on this celerom @ 52~62'C... if switch to P4 3.0 HT, need a better cooler? or use arctic silve 5?

i cut a HUGE hole on my side panel, installed alu net instead of acrylic, so that got air flow in but not much dust, but still the cpu is above 50...

QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Feb 11 2007, 05:12 PM) @alexandros_18th bro... i so susah put alu netting and all, just to prevent dust going into the casing... if put a intake fan... i might as well take down the whole side panel and put a stand fan towards the CPU FYI he using xp120+vantec 120mm bling bling fan then are your casing very pack? the cable are well organized? if the cable hanging around like spider web in front the HFS, then there is no way the hot air go out. if everything seems fine, maybe reapply thermal paste like AS5 may help bring down temp a bit. Ever think of screw a fan on the alu net to draw cool air above CPU? tried that before, works, but every once in a while have to clean up all those dead cockroach and stuff from the case... QUOTE(irangan @ Feb 11 2007, 05:26 PM) Check your mounting.. If mounting not good, it will affect the contact between the cooler and your processor IHS. Thus, increase the temp. using CoolerMaster Dream X3 now... not a high performance one... just low speed low noise only...If you really change to 3.0E, a third party cooler is HIGHLY recommended. It is one of those 'very hot' processor. Or you can try to look for those 3.0C. Much cooler. This post has been edited by rootified: Feb 12 2007, 06:46 PM |

QUOTE(irangan @ Feb 12 2007, 10:32 PM) currently using a celeron only.gonna get myself a 7300GT first, if it cannot meet my gaming requirement, then will change to P4 3.0G HT by then, i bet i have to fork out another several hundred for a cooler and a better PSU.... QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Feb 12 2007, 11:29 PM) if possible just direct screw the fan on the alu net(promised that wont spoil the net), blow air on your HFS. 7000rpm?! you gotta be kiddin me...my friend tried to put 4 fans on his panel like yours, 2 intake 2 exhaust. Not so loud if you using silent fan. i still remember his 7000rpm delta fan playing hard rock concert on the alpha cooler currently i open my side panel and a stand fan blow directly to it. lucky dont have cicak lipas. My prob now is the dust. hoho...nice to hear that. fast fast pasang and rock your cpu. last time when my stock fan was running @ 5000rpm like that, the sound was already terrifying... can feel the table vibrates... 7000?!?! OMG.... This post has been edited by rootified: Feb 13 2007, 09:59 AM |
