i think the cpu plays important role in 3DMark06, maybe a bit lower that what we read from reviews.

irangan : X1950pro good enough already ler.....

1 year later, u won't be thinking about 8800GTX liao XD

Haha... 1 year later, I will only think about cards from PCI E 2.0 smile.gif

QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Feb 8 2007, 11:01 AM)
x1950pro is a gem.  drool.gif  drool.gif there is no need for you to upgrade anymore. Maybe the most after this is that you have a P4EE. haha.... laugh.gif spend your time more with your GF  wink.gif
google for it. download the manual if you dont have. Are you using it now? i never come across asrock p4 mobo. maybe you can share your experience about it.  smile.gif
*
Buy one la, dont only drool... x1950 pro is very powerful smile.gif

Ya, I am looking for P4EE now since not going to do a major overhaul on my rig. I heard that it is quite powerful and rare stuff.

I accompany her almost everyday and vacation every 3 months. So I think it is more than enough smile.gif

QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Feb 8 2007, 11:25 AM)
So right now irangan is using his 1950 PRO ? His signature is written incoming status for the display card.
@ irangan, show us some print screen on the 3D marks. I read the reviews online that the x1950 pro did quite well on the 3D mark 06 too.
*
I not sure Mika is sending my card today or tomorrow. He told me will get it around these few days.

Sure I will do a mini review when i obtained the card.

Impossible to get that score unless I am using a dual core processor. My expectation is around 4.5k smile.gif

Yeah... Btw, x1950pro is overkill on alot of agp rig over there. Most of the review i read on the net showed the sign of major bottleneck on the processor level. Need at least P4 4.0ghz + or AMD Opt to work well with it

I guess around 4-4.5k in 3DMark06 sure would be very tempting since irangan is using an Intel platform based on AGP.

Hei irangan, you already sold the x800? tongue.gif

want to ask something here..

I tried to OC my cpu from 3.0ghz (200mhz) to 3.37 (225mhz)
the idle temp before OC is like 45C,46C and after OC 47-51C. full load before and after remain at max 53C after I've applied AS5 to my cpu + stock hsf..
izit normal? i mean the temp barely get higher..

yeah that should be normal..cuz its just a minimal OC so should'nt make ur temps increase that much laugh.gif like mine from 2.4Ghz to 2.7Ghz temp go up from 35c to 38c nia smile.gif

@irangan
once u get your X1950Pro ur rig would be a really powerful old school P4 laugh.gif laugh.gif

btw, i noticed that the ram clock also change with the cpu clock..if i change the cpu clock to 225, the ram has the same clock..
will the ram go hot? how to see temp of ram?

yeah of course the temperature will go higher if you're frequency gets higher..

about your rams, its because it's on a 1:1 divider which means its running at the same speed as your fsb.and yes it'll also get hot(er) if you oc it.to check the temp i guess you'll have to get a external thermometer laugh.gif

Actually you shouldnt ask this question here. This is a 478 thread and all temp question should be in Cooling and Hard-modding thread.

Anyway, I dont think it is a good idea to OC your 3.0E with stock cooler. Temp of a Prescott with default speed already quite high. So even with mild OC, you are risking to burn your processor and mobo.

Get a 3rd party heatsink if you want to OC your Prescott. There are plenty of good choice and suggestion in Cooling and Hard-modding thread. Read it up smile.gif

old school still rocks. biggrin.gif

$ matters la my friend. I rather get a lower range GC instead of getting high end that my rig bottleneck the real performance. AGP is in museum now, i feel not worth invest extra $ on the GC that cannot be used in the new mobo. haha....seldom play games, so didnt feel the need to upgrade. Well, these are only my point of views. No offence. icon_rolleyes.gif

well to me at least can use Vista without problems ok adi
and btw, our old school rigs are still strong, why change? XD

I don't see a reason to change unless u're a gamer or need to do extensive 3d rendering for your assignments and encoding.

well, i am OCing my p4, so i guess it wouldnt be much of off topic, wouldn't it? cool2.gif

i used AS5 on my cpu and the temp kinda drop alot. now idle at 46-48c, and full load <55c...kinda gud enuff for awhile.
im struggling to get an aftermarket hsf soon. maybe i'll bodek my parents to get me one of those during CNY..hehehe..

Nah, I fully agree with what you are saying. AGP is dying and it will gone in few years time. That is the fact when technology advanced. I bought the x1950pro to pro long the life span of my old rig. smile.gif

I just worry that mod will warn you later ma. Your question is more into cooling than P4 ma.

yes, AS5 is good enough to bring down few 'C but not enough because stock cooler dont have any heatpipe. Thus, the heat cant be transfer fast enough.

true2...
but then again, is all 3d mark tests on cpu really slow?
i runned them and i only got 1-7fps in the cpu test 3d mark03/05..
even my fren C2D @ stock 1.6ghz also running at the same speed..

irangan like that you can consider to get a prescott 3.8GHz proc.I saw one is selling in the garage sales there.Use the proc to o/c a bit,i think it's very easy to get 4.5GHz and above. thumbup.gif Then use that to run with your X1950 pro, then later should be able to get 4.5k in 3D mark 06.
