3.2E.......not bad smile.gif cant your freezer4 cool down the temp even at stock??
*
the temp is kinda hot la, but normal for prescott i think..
mine idle 50-52c and full load around 56-57c... sweat.gif

i tested my freezer4 ability by oc my friends proc 2.4c to 3.0ghz.temp not exceed 48c.but when pairing with my proc, it's really hot la.but compared to stock heatsink this one totally silent.... cool.gif

last time i modd my freezer, adding additional fan (pull n push configuration), manage to decrease the temp around 5c... smile.gif

decrease 5C is alot. smile.gif now still using that configuration?
*
not using it anymore, coz last time only got sunon fan.powerful but a bit loud.. doh.gif

QUOTE(RokXIII @ Feb 2 2007, 04:17 PM)
my previous prescott 2.4, idle temp at around 43-45C, full load will be 61C, sometimes can go idle at 39C...
So mayb u can try to reapply the thermal compound then give u a lower temp.
*
my previous 2.8A prescott the temp while idle also around that.but in full load, only around 55c.must be becoz of my freezer... biggrin.gif already applied new AS5 last weekend.maybe this is just becoz mine got higher clock..

something like , after changing into new mobo , boot the hard disk , then put the xp cd and reinstall window ?
Will it delete my file if I reinstall window xp ?
*
u can repair..but dont use the 1st option.when wndows installation ask for the 1st time, just select format.than it will ask for the 2nd time whether wanna istall fresh copy of windows or repair, u just choose repair...the 2nd one is better... smile.gif

Ok i'll format and freshly install window xp.
Just want to ask , noob question , i am using something like Intel 865PE at my asus board. If i buy a new motherboard not Intel 865PE will it work with my pentium 4 processor ?
If i use back the same Intel 865PE chipset means i can run back my window xp without reformating it ?
*

actually what is Intel 865PE means ? chipset ??
Why i can't find the same name of chipset at other different motherbaord ? like asrock and msi. Can't find the same name Intel 865PE
*
865PE/GB is the chipset that support p4 soc 478 supporting 800fsb. there is also 875,like Asus, gigabyte and abit produced for their highend series.this intel 875PE support PAT..

some of the manufacturer produce mobo with VIA chipset (dunno much about this).but still can support soc478....

Got VIA and SIS also.As long as their mobos are built with S478 socket then any 478 proc can fit in already. But usually for SIS and VIA mobo ,need to check on their max proc spec capability first before going to use them.
*
yeah, usually SIS got at those SFF mobo....SIS not bad for overclocker.... thumbup.gif (example those shuttle series... thumbup.gif )

yo guys, i need some recomendation on HSF for my P4C 3.0GHz oc @ 3.41GHz. Idle temp is around 45-48C but 100% load is as high as 75C ! even at stock voltage (1.525v) still too hot for me.

currently use the CM Xdream III Copper base+ Aluminium fins. i need to replace a good HSF so that i can decrease to about 55-60C on full load.
*
yours is 3.0E??got same prob when using CM cooler before.. sweat.gif

mine is 3.0C oc at 3.41GHz. My northwood core is terribly high on 100% load. can be as high as 75C. i came across with alot of HSF review but cannot find exactly how much celcius (C) can be lowered down on OCed P4
*
i think it's ur heatsink...overclocked northwood got lower tempt.that's y become famouse amongs overclocker...or maybe ur core??? sweat.gif
