Just wanna add, I do believe current mid range to high end AGP cards are able to breathe in new life for our s478 rig, or to extend the capabilities of our rig. That's why I got myself a 7600GS AGP for my P4 3.06Ghz in the first place. 

Anyway, back to the s478 topic, here is an interesting temperature chart taken from xbitlabs with P4 HT enabled and disabled, and found an increase in temp when HT disabled (especially in idle mode).

i think not many game really utilize HT. so running game the HT is idle.

many reported decrease of few fps with HT on, I think due to reserved cpu cycles for other process. Even HT on, you are still on one CPU, only 'virtually' OS detected 2 cpu.

simple experiment is run a 3d game and one mp3 ripper/dvd encoding at the same time. Sure still lag...

I did this experiment before long time ago. I was playing C&C Zero Hour and did encoding job at the same time,i found that my system was no lag but will slow down only with terms and condition my system was overclocked. You can try by yourself,you will see the difference there.

Hi im new to this section of the forums. I have 2 questions, whats the max a p4 2.4a can go w/o voltmodding? and has anyone tried fiddling around with the timings for radeon 9800se running on omega drivers?

i doubt that p43.4EE will be available, and the price sure a bomb.

EE having 2mb L3 cache. Thats make it stand out from ordinary p4. Pricy as well.

its prescott.. i just cleaned out my aunties office cz they upgraded and i got a bunch of celerons ranging from 1.7~2.0 478 sockets...and a bunch of main boards like asus...ecs... so i was wondering what i can tinker with xD

btw, my mainboard is ecs 848p-a v1.0, i read that voltages can be set in the bios but mine doesnt seem so =/

lol sadly could'nt find any 939 X2 procs so i shall just wait a couple more months..
hmm..for prescott with good cooling it should be able to achieve 3Ghz and above.like kabukiawie's 2.4A,managed 3.33Ghz on air. 

hmm...its exactly same as mine.

not really a great overcloker but mine manage to oc 3.0GHz stable max at stock voltage, stock cooling. With proper cooling right now manage to squeeze 200MHz more with 1.475v vcore. i quite satisfied with my 2.4A. Like what edminisrator said, every chip is having unique ocability. Maybe yours better than mine.

560usd is killing price. That price can get a 8800gtx. after convert less than 1k still can accept. Nevermind la, now your rig can can easily blow away that EE performance with a sneeze. kidding.

i dont know 939x2 is cheap out there.  as i know last time when x2 just came out, high price. Now with the popularize of am2, every1 is switching.

if right now having a good agp gc on hand maybe go for 939 x2 will be worth. Other than that better stick to old rig, save $ direct move to am2 or darkside. Wondering when is my next upgrade. next year maybe.
