So glad I didn't have to rely on tonight's MU game when buying a new laptop today. Was pleasantly surprised to find that Dell online accepts AMEX.

This time I planned the purchase and didn't take up the 0% instalment payment scheme so that I could get my 5X TP (and will later use CIMB 0% 6m BT).  Since getting M2P, I realised that I can use Amex for the majority purchases (except school fees). I wish I had joined the club earlier!

Sis, Dell online already accepted AmEx long long time ago leh. tongue.gif I last bought my laptop 8 years ago and paid with M2Card AmEx but it won't process during weekends so I didn't get my weekend cash back. Those were the time. laugh.gif

Ahhh..didn't know this! The last Dell I bought was many many years ago in the UK (didn't have Amex then), and since then been buying other brands on Lazada which doesn't accept Amex. This time decided to try XPS15. One of the best things about M2P Amex is that no need to rely on timing.

Re processing time... Mine was charged less than half an hour after payment. I got a call from MBB to confirm the purchase, and shortly after a confirmation email from Dell.

Make sure you can wait for your laptop to arrive
It took more than a week for my last purchase few weeks ago
End up I cancelled the order after waiting for a week and grab a ready stock from a local shop (and of course pay with Amex too)

Probably they have changed now, yeah last time they won't process on weekends even if placed orders on weekends. Anyway, again it doesn't matter for our M2P AR now. tongue.gif

We had a good time at Lemon Garden. Truly enjoyed the seafood, especially their fresh prawns. So huge and so fresh. Oyster as well. drool.gif

Yeah, the satays were great. I feel the dessert corner is not so comprehensive though. Good food experience overall. Full house so make sure you make reservation beforehand.

Hi, do we need to inform the restaurant that we use amex to get discount earlier? planning to go this weekend.

No. I didn't inform, when the bill came to me, it was billed for 2xRM 226 but I told the guy I'll be using AR to pay for 50% discount. He is well-aware and revised the bill to 50% discount before swiping for me.

Make sure you do a reservation and choose Saturday for seafood buffet. Only Fridays and Saturdays have seafood buffet+international buffet, other days just international buffet.

Quick update on the TPs I received for my piano purchase discussed a few posts above.

Just checked my Amex Reserve TPs and they have jumped up by 150k (i.e. the RM30k x 5!!!).

I had already assumed that I would only be getting 1x TP, as I thought it was an EzyPay transaction. However, it appears that perhaps it wasn't? To clarify, the merchant swiped my CC on the terminal, and then chose the option 36 month plan. As mentioned previously, my CL reflects the RM30k, but there are no charges reflected yet.

In short, I'm not sure how I managed to get 5x TP while still benefitting from 0% 36m instalment plan. Just hoping it isn't a mistake!

Slightly out of topic. https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...mastercard.page?

Apparently Maybank World Mastercard (conventional) annual requirement has just been revised from 120k to 100k, in line with the annual requirement of Maybank Islamic World Mastercard Ikhwan (islamic).

In addition, first year 800 annual fee will also be waived (previously 1k non-waivable on first year), with subsequently year waivable with 80k min spend (previously waivable with 120k min spend).

In terms of Lounge benefit I believe it is same as per Maybank VI/MU VI.

The main difference is this card earns *Evergreen* Treats Airmiles (AM) instead of 3 years validity Treats Point (TP). Whereas Maybank VI gets 2 TP for every RM1 spent, Maybank WMC gets 5 AM for every RM2 spent.

To further illustrate
Maybank VI | free 10000 TP upon first spend | Rm1 for 2 TP | 4500 TP for 1000 EM | TP valid for 3 years | Equivalent to Rm2250 for 1000 EM
Maybank WMC | free 50000 AM upon approval | Rm1 for 2.5 AM | 6000 AM for 1000 EM | AM no expiry | Equivalent to Rm2400 for 1000 EM

Do you all think MBB WMC is a better alternative compared to MBB VI for faster Enrich Miles accumulation, with MBB WMC getting free 50000 AM (8333 EM) to begin with? (Leaving MU VI 5x TP aside as it is non-guaranteed)

Simple maths
To earn 1000 Enrich
WMC = 6000/2.5 = spend RM2400
VI = 4500/2 = spend RM2250

Of course 50k extra Treat Airmiles is attractive (not airmiles ya)
But I think WMC only can redeem Enrich
8k Enrich only good for those regular Enrich user

Last time I purchased MacBook Pro from epicentre with 0% 12months instalment and I also get the 5x tp. It has been two months ago and the points still inside my account. Only the subsequent monthly instalment get 0tp.
