Having 40K per year for travel put one into T5 position smile.gif
Anyway, that's quite a huge budget. Perhaps I am not there to spend 40k yet for traveling from my own pocket.

Lilsunflower got dissected here....lol

For a family of 5+1 (I remember she said she brings the maid along) to Europe, 60k is actually par....if for just a couple, it's luxury.....

To be able to do that yearly, definitely T5.....lol

Yah loh.....to qualify for this card, already confirmed 10k mth salary....

But it's whether it's 10k or 20k or 50k that's intriguing.....lol

According to government, malaysia T20 median income is around 13k per month, so spending 40k for vacation is actually T10 d ..... haha

Yup. 13k is family income (husband + wife).
Most (if not all) of us here who qualified for M2P belong to T20.
Also, anytime you may "qualified" as T10 or even T5, the figure is definitely smaller than you imagined.
Still a lot poor fellows in the country.

Just want to make sure before I make booking.

Agoda - if pay with VI to book a local hotel (charged in RM), got 5X? Someone mention before it get 5x because Agoda payment portal/processor is foreign?

If not, I can use Amex to pay no issue.

Just that there's currently a Maybank VISA contest/promo if you book via e-commerce sites

Talking about Agoda,

I tried booking a hotel in Ipoh and they only accept Master or Visa on its app... But during my last booking, I could book with my Amex... Did they remove AMEX recently?

In the eyes of MY government, we are all T20 here. I think only RM 10k or RM 8.333k per month qualifies for T20? laugh.gif
In reality, I don't think I'm living like a T20 at all. sweat.gif

Different people different perspective. U earn 10k i earn 10k. U willing to use 5k for vacation budget while i use 200 budget. So u cant measure by people spending.

Someone working 2k a month but can go buy a S10. And some 10k a month still using nokia 3310. tongue.gif

Omg. Opened this thread and nearly fainted.

Was just sharing my personal strategy on holiday planning strategy, which many of my friends laugh at as they think it is counting pennies. Wanted to justify that every cent matters to me and I will try to save money to max card benefits where possible, which I think most of us in these forums are here for regardless of income status.

No worries. All of us do the same too, or most of us do the same.
I count every penny and don't mind the little inconvenience like some of my friends/colleagues commented. I'm perfectly fine with it, so long I got the benefits and enjoyment from it. Yes, I do enjoy counting the cash back and TP now. sweat.gif

Sifus, has anyone used the MU Visa Infinite Concierge service. Am heading to Japan, and want to get a table at one of those closed door private sushi bars. Was told they don't entertain non-Japanese speaker requests.

Has anyone tried using this concierge service and can share your experience?

Unless their monthly income is over million ringgit, otherwise, they won’t fork out cash to buy premium class either

Or in the case of MAS, the entire extended family of their executives. How not to bleed red every single year?

My estimate is that the majority, maybe up to 90% of j class passengers are either on entitlement travel (business, senior gov servants etc) or redemption tickets.....very few actually pay their own money .....
