herc and fruitie, thanks for sharing the option of paying utility bills at Sam's to secure the 5xTP.
Like many here, I have up to 10K in bills to pay per month (4 TNB bills). Considering the limit of just 1K at Sam's, what is the best way to go about this? I don't want the cashier to look at me as if I'm a looney blink.gif
Please share your experience!

You have to visit few times and go different counter. laugh.gif
Same account no. cannot pay at the same counter for more than one time at the same day.

Does it mean if I hv a 3k TNB bill I hv to go to 3 different counters ? Can be done same day ?
Starting to sound like it's not worth the trouble unsure.gif

His case is valid because his bill is more than RM 1k but you only allow RM 1k per bill per counter. laugh.gif
I always hop from one counter to another counter to fulfill RM 50 per transaction for Wise. laugh.gif That one lagi muka tebal but they know me well and know I will do that early of the month. tongue.gif
*
Oh wait let me get this right. It is 1k max per bill per counter or simply 1k max in total? For eg, I have 4 tnb bills each about 2k...can I get 1k settled frm each bill in 1 counter? That way I just need to go 2 counters? Sorry for asking repeatedly, abit blur sweat.gif

Not sure because I have not paid anything more than 200.
Well, if it's 500, then have to split more.

You may try at the strand Kota damansara less ppl there if you have lots of bills
*
Thanks for the advice. In fact strand is near my office, may give it a shot and see if this is feasible or just switch credit cards altogether for utilities

tat's why i wonder when someone mention 1k per counter. It's always been 500 to me.

Sam's here only 3~4 counter open, sometimes I need to wait for them to open. Still have a lot outstanding to pay and I have to shift the usage to other cards.

herc is it confirmed that your tnb bills paid at Sam's is giving you the 5x TP after the recent annoucement by Maybank?
I think Maybank will see at least 30% drop in their card usage with this new revision and hopefully they will do something to stop the bleeding.

yes confirmed, any bill u pay there is considered as groceries, 5X TP no problem.

paying 10k bills there is applicable and not too hard to achieve, but imagine mine is 40k
*
40K ?? my goodness you must have racked up a few million points by now.
I earned about 1 million points in just 12 months, back when everything thing is 5x on the Amex Reserve.
But now that is history and we have to resort to paying bills at the grocer! bangwall.gif

laugh.gif I know but too bad my company doesn't allow us to do that.
We cannot even buy our own flight tickets, all must be done via our travel desk and charged straight to company's account. laugh.gif
The only thing I can always do is my boss will allow me to pay on his behalf during team lunch and he pays me back after the meal, he will claim from his own. He just wants me to earn some pocket money. laugh.gif

With MNC you already have very nice perks and benefits, no need to slowly rack up airmiles like us smile.gif
but it is nice to bring your spouse to a holiday on business class. Take a 13 hour flight to london and when you arrive you go "already?" I was just about to enjoy the A380 haha

Yes, register for the membership card. Only RM 12 and you will get RM 10 voucher.
RM 1 = 1 point. 1000 points can redeem RM 10 voucher.
Register the membership card before making any transaction, the points cannot be backdated.
*
Applicable for utility bills too? Yahoooooo
that's another 100RM savings a month

If it's TNB have you tried the myTNB app itself? I've successfully paid my bill with my Amex card previously.
