I will argue Enrich comes out worse even for Japan flights. 110k miles vs 68k miles. Those miles are worth a lot more than RM200++ which is how much more your cash outlay would cost you if you redeem SIN-NRT return (Option 3 above). Yes, you need to pay for the LCC positioning flight but let's face it. SQ J is a world class product. MH J?

I guess you may also use EM for a OW redepmtion, 96000 EM (KUL to NRT) on CX/JAL, I believe CX fees are quite low, although lack of availability and stopover at HKG, definately better than 110k on MH redemption.

Back on topic, where have you guys managed to use your AMEX for large transactions locally?

is it JL?

But on JL Mileage Bank it's below 5000 Yen (RM200)

No, CX using Asia Miles. No experience using Enrich miles to redeem for partner airlines.

I registered a KF account just to check things out. I found that the miles required are 80,000 (after discount 68,000) ONE way for Tokyo. Return is 136,000 miles. How do you get 68,000 return or am I missing something here??? And, any difference in seats at all between saver and standard cos the miles required are almost double for standard.

EDIT: I think I got it. Eventhough the 80,000 (68,000) is for return. Pretty confusing because they show 68,000 to and then 68,000 back but when you click to choose the dates, the summary show 2 flights and total 68,000 miles. Just a quick question: if I book the sin-tokyo and wait list the tokyo-sin but assume I failed to get the wait list, is the whole trip cancelled and the points returned?

guys, has anyone done prepayment before via email. How safe is it.

I am getting a few pieces of luggages from Germany, picking it up on January. The vendor said to prebook it i'll need to prepay it. It'll require my credit card number + expiry + name via email.

I've done payment on the phone, but not this. Is it safe?

It is quite common but I have only done it with local insurance company which I trust. You have to see how trust worthy that organisation is .

just performed my redemption to 30k asia miles
indeed earning treats points was very easy with the 5x thingy.

RM 1 = 5 TP
4.77TP = 1 mile
RM 1 > 1 mile? thumbsup.gif

question now
how long does it take for it to be processed?
any members can share?

Was it with the 2C Premier? I have just signed up with Krisflyer Amex so I hope they will be just as quick. Any experience?
I still have some 750K TP which I plan to convert to KF at some stage.
